In just a few short days it will be another year. 2013 is drawing to a close and hopefully 2014 will dawn bright and clear. I have so many plans for Southeast by Midwest in the upcoming year. I plan on doing more reviews, more tutorials, and featuring some of my favorite bloggers. However, before that time comes I thought it would be fun to look back at this past year and see what, according to analytics, were the 10 ten posts on Southeast by Midwest.
10 | Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation Review
Coming in at number ten is the review for the Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation. This post included a video of me applying a product and talking about it’s application and feel afterwards. This was a product that I was sent to review by Influenster so I’m glad that it had enough views to land it in the top ten. I do think that once the product actually hits the stores in the US it might move a bit higher!
9 | Holiday Gift Guide: Makeup for Guru’s
It took awhile to come up with a list that was good enough, in my opinion, to be listed for Guru’s. This post contained items that are for sure on my wishlist *hint hint*
8 | Katniss Catching Fire Makeup Tutorial
A one brand tutorial, CoverGirl, AND a Katniss Everdeen makeup tutorial all rolled into one?! On top of that it was my first actual makeup tutorial, I was scared that this wouldn’t do well and while I’m a bit disappointed that it’s not higher on the list I am glad that it’s on there.
7 | #FridayFancies Sparkle + Shine
I love the #FridayFancies linkup and this one was one of my favorite outfits.
6 | Holiday Gift Guide: Makeup for Intermediates
Again, coming up with the items on this list took awhile so I’m glad that this one is as high as it is.
5 | Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette Giveaway
I’m surprised that a giveaway featuring an Urban Decay palette didn’t make number 1! That gives me high hopes for the rest of the top five!!
I can admit that this isn’t my best photography but WOW isn’t that color gorgeous!
3 | Holiday Gift Guide: Makeup for Beginners
Number 3?! Yes!!! I’m so happy that this one is that high. First off, this was the HARDEST gift guide to make as I had just done for an ebook collaboration. Speaking of, I know it’s after Christmas but if you want to see some other beauty and fashion things be sure to head over to Amazon to pick it up. Secondly, I wanted to make sure that there was very few crossover between the Makeup for Beginners Gift Guide that I did for the blog and that I did for the book. I think I did well!
2 | Makeup for Beginners: What Makeup Brushes do I Need?
I stopped this series because I didn’t think it was getting a lot of views. Looks like I was wrong. Well I might just pick this back up next year, keep your eyes peeled.

I think two on the list were my favorites! I loved the Katniss make up tutorial as well as the Holiday Gift Guide Make UP for Beginners because I need that for myself!
I’m having a hard time believing that 2013 is so close to being over!! I never know what make up brushes to use, so i hope you will restart that series!

My daughter loved the Catching Fire make up tutorial. She wore her eye make up just as the tutorial taught her and received lots of compliments at the movie. Looking forward to more great posts in 2014.
