I’ve decided to do a two week Holiday Gift Guide series which will focus on different areas. These areas will include makeup, perfume, nail polish, and fashion to name a few. To start off this two week extravaganza I decided to start with a Holiday Gift Guide that focuses on products for the makeup beginner in your life.
1 | Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream
The first product is a base product. Now depending on who you’re buying for not only may you not know their foundation shade but there’s the possibility that THEY may not know their foundation shade. A BB Cream is excellent in these cases as they usually only have four shades Fair, Light, Medium, and Dark. All you have to do is roughly judge about where you think they would fall and you should be able to get a shade that is fairly decent.
2 | Maybelline Great Lash Mascara in Clear
A great product for a makeup beginner to start out with is clear mascara. A clear mascara will allow them to not only practice applying mascara on their lashes without getting it all over their face. A clear mascara can also be used to tame down wilder brows for those beginners who either choose not to pluck or don’t know how to shape yet.
3 | E.L.F. 9-piece Lip Gloss Cube
Next on the list is an actual holiday item from E.L.F. cosmetics. This item is a cube of nine lip glosses ranging in colors from clear to a deep vampy purple. This is a good product to get because it allows the giver to gift several items at once and gift glosses without having to know the wearers exact shade. Also, it allows the receiver to be able to try out different shades to find their “signature” shade, if they haven’t found it yet.
4 | Neutrogena Oil Free Makeup Remover
One important step that a lot of makeup beginners forget about is removing their makeup. This is actually one of the most important steps in the makeup process because not removing the makeup can cause the pores to become clogged. Clogged pores can lead to acne and skin aging more quickly. A good way to remove makeup is with an oil free makeup remover. Oil free makeup removers work best because they are good for ALL skin types.
5 | Capelli Small Cosmetic Bag with Bow
The last item on the list is a bag to put all of these products in. A good quality makeup bag is good to give to a makeup beginner as it will not only hold their makeup products but it will be something that they can use for years to come. What will start out as a bag for all of their makeup items will later be able to be used for just one type of product, for example lipsticks.
Yes – removing makeup is so important. Thanks for that tip.
I wear makeup so little that I might as well be considered a beginner. I like the lip gloss cube in the kit you shared!
This is a GREAT, natural kit for someone younger to start off with. Perfect picks!
I like this beginner’s gift guide. I will share it with my teenie bopper who is learning about makeup and what looks good on her.
Those are great suggestions! I especially like BB Cream. It’s a miracle product for dry skin.
I must say the idea of clear mascara for a teenager is positively brilliant as an intro. I just love that idea!
I’m addicted to lip gloss and would love to have that E.L.F. kit!
Awesome gift guide! I also love BB Cream – it is so easy and simple to use! And, I love ELF brand of cosmetics – super affordable!
Thanks for the share. I couldn’t find the clear mascara in our local drugstore. 🙁 eeeee
BB Cream! I still need to pick up some! Putting it on my to do list.
What a great list of starter makeup for the beginner. Hopefully I have a few more years before I need to tackle that issue with my DD. 🙂
I’m going to check out the lipgloss cube! I love E.L.F!
What a fabulous idea! There’s always people looking for great starter items for make-up. I love make-up!
I love the idea of a holiday gift guide giveaway with lots of options to choose from too. Makeup removal is a great product that helps with removing all traces of makeup too.
You have some great products in there! The Neutrogena Oil-Free Makeup Remover is a must, and I am a huge fan of BB creams.
I need all of this! I’ve just recently gotten into doing my own make-up, so I’m trying to find the best things to use. 🙂
