Highend Makeup Kit

Yesterday I showed you a Drugstore Makeup Kit that had good quality products for decent prices. Today I’m going to show you a Highend Makeup Kit that has products that have even better qualities but with a heftier price tag. That being said, the prices for these products are more than worth it. In the interest of full disclosure I will say that I have not tried ALL of the items on this list, BUT the ones I have not tried are on my wishlist. All of these can be gotten for under $300 and once you see the products on here you’ll see how amazing that is!

Highend Makeup Kit on southeastbymidwest.com

1. MAC Studio Fix Foundation – $27

I just recently purchased my first MAC Foundation and let me tell you the only thing I’m sorry about is the fact that it took me so long to purchase this product. MAC’s Studio Fix Foundation is just one of the several foundation lines that MAC carries. The Studio Fix line has a SPF of 15, keeps you from getting shiny, and has great coverage.

2. Bobbi Brown Concealer – $23

Bobbi Brown concealer is one of the first items on my list that I personally do not own. However, I’ve seen tons of people raving about how great it is as an under-eye concealer. If you remember from yesterday, an under-eye concealer helps counteract those dark circle and highlights that under eye area making the eyes POP!

3. Makeup Forever HD Setting Powder – $28

In yesterday’s post the powder that I showed you was a pressed powder due to it’s being more beginner friendly. At this point I feel that if you’re going to be shelling out big bucks for makeup you probably either know how to use it or you someone that knows how to use it will be applying it for you. Therefore, a setting powder instead of a pressed powder is what I’m putting on this list. A setting powder takes a skilled hand because you really need to control how much you get on your brush otherwise you’ll look like a clown. If you can get the hang of it, this powder will not only keep your makeup looking flawless for a long time, but your skin will be super soft as well.

4. Benefit Boxed Blush – $28

I was so afraid to try Benefit’s boxed blushes but man I don’t know why. I have the boxed blush pictured, Hervana, which is a mosaic blush. A mosaic blush is one that has several colors in the package that you swirl together and apply to the cheeks, they can be used individually but you would need a pretty small brush! If a mosaic just isn’t your style Benefit does offer other boxed blushes like their Coralista which, you guessed it, is a coral shade. The box keeps the product nice and secure and looks dang cute if I do say so myself. The product itself is a long lasting one that adds a nice flush to the cheeks but that can be built upon if you’re going for a more dramatic color.

5. Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer – $30

This product is another one that is not in my collection, unfortunately, and from all I’ve heard about it that makes me super sad. The different videos I’ve seen of people using this product it applies a nice sculpted look to the cheek bones without looking like a dirt stripe going down the face. Also, from review videos I’ve seen it has some LONG lasting power and the package is gorgeous too. However, all of those things are not why this bronzer is worth $30, I’ll give you a hint: Chocolate doesn’t just refer to the name…that’s right this bronzer smells just like a chocolate bar!

6. Dior Shimmer Highlighter – $45

This item is the second most expensive on this list but man is it worth it. The package is classic Dior GORGEOUSNESS with a sleek blue case that slides into a velvet pouch. The shimmer to this is a pink base so it not only adds a glisten to the cheeks but a healthy looking glisten. Again in the guise of all honesty this item is not on my wishlist…HOWEVER it will be in my hot little hands by the end of this year!

7. Urban Decay Naked Palette – $52

The Naked Palette was just recently added to my collection and, again being completely honest, I’ve used it EVERY SINGLE FREAKIN DAY since receiving it. It has several shades in it, all of the shades are gorgeous, you can create multiple looks with this, and the staying power is freaking FABULOUS!!

8. Tarte SmolderEyes Eyeliner – $19

Tarte’s SmolderEyes eyeliner is made of Amazonian Clay so not only is the color pay off excellent but the staying power is out of this world! This eye pencil is a great one to use on the waterline, or tightline, as you will not finding it running down your face as the day progresses…or if you get caught in a rainstorm.

9. Benefit They’re Real Mascara – $23

My first experience with this mascara was a sample that I received in an Ipsy bag. I wasn’t a big mascara wearer at the time, mainly because I hate the torture device known as the Eyelash Curler, but this mascara changed that. This mascara gave me a great curl without having to use a curler, great volume, great length, AND it worked great on the bottom lashes. When I wear this mascara it seriously looks like I’m wearing falsies. What more could you ask for? Oh yeah you’d probably want it to not breakdown throughout the day, to not run during the day, and to have a non  clumping formula…well it hits all of those markers too!

10. MAC Lipsticks – $15

Coming in as the cheapest item on the list is are MAC lipsticks and truly with all that you get from them they shouldn’t be. The formula of these are moisturizing, even the matte lipsticks, nondrying, and they have great color payoff. Plus they’re easy to combine. I’ve heard of guru’s adding MAC’s Creme d’ Nude over a pink MAC lipstick or even adding a pink MAC lipstick over something like MAC’s Cyber to tone it down a bit.

Great highend make up kit wish list. I have always wanted to try out Urban Decay products. I wish I had an extra $300 to blow. My daughter applauds your choices, says they would be hers as well.

I love the Mac Cosmetics line especially their lipsticks. I noticed their price went down a little which is a bonus as I look into possible gifts for the holiday season.

Love this! I’ve used the badgirl lash mascara and its amaaaaazzziiiingggg. I used to want the UD Naked palette so bad because the pigments are gorgeous, but I’ve been trying to buy vegan products lately, which is why i”m so happy you have tarte on there!! Tarte is vegan and I was picking between the Tarte foundation pressed powder and the Josee Maran one (also vegan). I went with JM because since Tarte is made with clay, it had a chance of drying out my sensitive skin (not an issue for most people though because it’s a gorgeous product).

A lot of people with sensitive skin usually find that Tarte is one of the better makeup brands to use because they are super gentle. I, personally, haven’t tried any of JM’s products but with how big she is on Argan oil I can imagine that they’re very moisturizing. Either brand is great though 🙂
