We’re not even going to discuss how late this post is. sigh. Moving on. For those that don’t know Birchbox is a beauty/lifestyle subscription box that costs $10/month. For that $10 you get 4 to 5 beauty or lifestyle samples. Details on how Birchbox works can be found here.
July Birchbox Unboxing
Stila Liquid Lipstick
The first item in my July Birchbox was a Stila Liquid Lipstick in Bella. The sample choice for the month of July was that you got to pick one of three colors of the Stila Liquid Lipstick, so if you’re not a big fan of liquid lipsticks you were just out of luck. Luckily, I happen to LOVE lipsticks of all kinds so I was super excited to be able to choose one of these. As for the Stila Liquid Lipstick itself, it’s WHOA pigmented. As you can see in the video, one small swipe gave quite a big of pigmentation. I will warn that the Stila Liquid Lipstick does have a scent to it but it’s a nice fruit scent.

Benefit They’re Real Push-up Liner
The second item in my July Birchbox was a sample size of the Benefit They’re Real Push-up Liner in Black. With the release of the Benefit They’re Real Push-up Liner in different colors I would have really have preferred to get one of those instead another in black. To be honest, I’m not a big fan of the Benefit They’re Real Push-up Liner due to the hard to get out product, the dragging that I have to do, and the formula. Getting one of the other colors would probably have been just as bad BUT at least I’d have gotten to try another color!

Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Liquid
The third item in my July Birchbox was a sample size of the Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Liquid. If I’m honest, when I saw this in the box I had no freaking idea what it was. According to the Birchbox website, Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Liquid is a primer that locks in moisture and keeps out harmful microbes by binding the skin cells. I haven’t had a chance to try this yet but I am super intrigued.

Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray
The fourth item in my July Birchbox was a can of Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray. My first thought when I saw this was “Great, another texturizing spray.” However, I read the Birchbox site and saw that it was actually part dry shampoo part texturizing spray and I was a bit more interested. I also love the scent that this has, it’s really hard to describe so I’m not even going to try but I just love it in my hair. I hate the thought of paying $42 for a can of dry shampoo but I just might have to!

Real Chemistry Luminous 3-Minute Peel
The last item in my July Birchbox was a tube of Real Chemistry Luminous 3-Minute Peel. I am not a huge fan of face peels, I hate how they come off and I think it’s just overall disgusting. When I saw that this was a luminous peel I decided to suck it up and give it a try. What I love about this is that it’s different from the other peel that I’ve tried in that it didn’t gel and I have to peel it off piece by piece at the end, instead I was able to just rinse it off with some warm water. What I loved the most though was that from the moment I started to apply the mask it started removing the dead skin. It was both awesome and disgusting at the same time!

Birchbox Haul
Before I get to the value chart for my July Birchbox let’s go ahead and check out what I got in my Birchbox Haul. I had some points saved up so I decided to pickup another bottle of my Japonesque Makeup Brush Cleanser. Since I’m heading to school for Cosmetology I thought it might be smart to start testing out what brush cleansers I’d like to use when I finish school. Lastly, I picked up a pack of Birchbox Playing Cards just as a filler to get my order up to a certain amount for a coupon code I wanted to use. Since I spent about $35 I was able to pickup a Mystery Sample Pack which comes with two freebies. I received a Pop Beauty Eye Shadow Trio in Peach Parfait, a sampler of the Bright Up Your Life Palette in Naturally Bare. I also received a small bottle of Beauty Protector Protect & Treat Hair Mask, which smells FABULOUS!
