If you remember I mentioned in yesterday’s post that one of my favorite products for the summer is the 2015 Borghese Summer Collection. One thing to note is that while summer may be winding down it’s not to late to add these products to your collection and enjoy them!
The first product from the Borghese Summer Collection that I’m going to talk about are the blushes. The blushes come in four gorgeous colors; Tickle, Thrill, Flight, and Stunner for you to pick the color the best suites the look that you are going for. I received the shade “Flight”, which as you can see is a bronze shade with shimmer in it. While I’m not usually a bronze loving person I actually did find this blush quite good. I probably won’t wear this shad all the time but I did like it so much that I’m planning on going and picking up “Tickle”. So even if you don’t like this particular shade you may want to check out the others in the line.
The second product from the Borghese Summer Collection that I’m going to talk about is the 5 Shades of Fresh Eye Shadow Palette. Unlike the blush with it’s four options, the eye shadow palette is only available in the one color-way. I have to say that I really like the earthy green shades that Borghese came up with in this palette (NOTE: They are swatched backwards from the layout of the palette) and as you can see the color payoff is quite excellent. I also like that this palette can be used completely by itself or with other palettes.
I’m going to talk about the next two products from the Borghese Summer Collection together because they kind of go together. The ColorSturck Lipstick in shade Swoon and the ColorGlass Lip Gloss in Gilt. The first thing that I liked about both of these products was the packaging, both the lipstick and lip gloss tubes had a bit of heft to them and didn’t feel cheap or plastic (neither are by the way). I also liked how they both felt on my lips, moisturizing and not at all tacky. Lastly, I liked that they didn’t really have a distracting scent, while I love lipsticks and lip glosses that have delicious scents they can sometimes be distracting and that was not the case with these at all!
The next product from the Borghese Summer Collection I’m going to talk about is the State of the Art Mascara. I can say that while I liked the packaging for the mascara and the wand I don’t think it was really state of the art. It gave me some curl and length, however, I found that it broke down on my eyes fairly quickly. Now before you think “Oh it’s horrible” you should probably know that my eyes are super sensitive and most mascara’s break down on them quicker than they should, I have found very few that will hold up for 10+ hours. So know that while I say that this broke down fairly quickly I mean that it only lasted about 6 to 8 hours in South Carolina heat and humidity.
The last product from the Borghese Summer Collection I’m going to talk about is the Tinted Moisturizer. The Summer Glow Tinted Moisturizer has a SPF of 20, has very light to sheer coverage, and gives the skin that “sun kissed” look. The way that I actually love to use this product is by mixing a small pump with my lighter foundations. While the swatch on my hand in the photo looks like the product is super dark, it actually isn’t due to the sheer coverage. However, when mixed with a foundation that is a shade to light, it does a great job of darkening it enough for it to match for the summer!
There you have several of the products in the Borghese Summer Collection. As I mentioned above, I think these products are actually versatile enough to be used throughout the year, especially if you’re wanting to keep that Summer Glow just a bit longer.
