As you probably already know it’s the holiday season here in the United States. That means it’s time for all of the holiday beauty releases. One company that goes big with holiday themed releases each year is Too Faced and this year their theme is “Christmas in New York”! The Christmas in New York Holiday Collection included 8 different sets and 3 holiday ornaments. I managed to get my hands on all 8 of the holiday sets but decided to skip the ornaments and if you’ve been around the blog then you would have already have seen the review for the Sephora exclusive of the set, Chocolate Shop. Now it’s time to talk about, and swatch!, the Too Faced Grand Hotel Palette! Make sure to come back all this week for reviews of the other sets as well!
Too Faced Grand Hotel Palette Information
The Too Faced Grand Hotel Palette is one of the palettes released in the Too Faced Christmas in New York holiday collection. The Too Faced Grand Hotel Palette is actually a set of three mini palettes, and a deluxe size sample of Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, housed inside of an outer case that looks like a hotel and can be used for display. Each of the palettes in the Too Faced Grand Hotel Palette contain six eye shadows and a face product. The eye shadows are a mix of mattes and shimmers while the face products consist of two blushes and a bronzer. Another feature of the palettes is that they can be split from the set and gifted to people if preferred, a photo of that will be below. Each of the three palettes has a “theme” and the shades inside the palette along with the scent match that theme. Let’s see the themes and their swatches!
Grand Hotel Peppermint Mocha Swatches
The first palette in the Too Faced Grand Hotel Palette is the Peppermint Mocha palette. The Peppermint Mocha palette is a cute pink with peppermint and candy cane decorations in pinks and white on the packaging. The shadows consist of a white, two shades in the pink family, and three shades in the brown family. The face product inside the Peppermint Mocha palette is a bright pink blush and the scent is a faint peppermint with a hint of chocolate.
From top to bottom the first three shadows are Peppermint Cream, a white matte; Christmas Blend, a peach-gold shimmer; and Peppermint Mocha, a brown-peach shimmer.
From top to bottom the last three shadows are Candy Cane, light pink matte; Sprinkles, berry-magenta shimmer; and Coffee Chip, deep brown shimmer.
The blush in Peppermint Mocha is a bright pink matte called Santa Baby.
Grand Hotel Gingerbread Cookie Swatches
The second palette in the Too Faced Grand Hotel Palette is the Gingerbread Cookie palette. The Gingerbread Cookie palette is brown with a gingerbread, star, and Christmas Tree in shade of brown, pink, and white on packaging. The shadows consist of a beige, a purple, three browns, and a black. The face product inside the Gingerbread Cookie palette is a bronzer and the scent is a strong gingerbread scent.
From top to bottom the first three shadows are Ginger Cream, a warm beige matte; Maple Syrup, a brown matte; and Gingershap, a copper shimmer.
From top to bottom the last three shadows are Winter Dream, a orchid-mauve shimmer; Cup of Joe, a deep brown with gold shimmer; and Black Coffee, a dark black matte.
The bronzer in Gingerbread Cookie is a warm bronze with a slight shimmer called Gingerbread.
Grand Hotel Eggnog Latte Swatches
The last palette in the Too Faced Grand Hotel Palette is the Eggnog Latte palette. The Eggnog Latte palette is a pale green with a star, bell, and ball ornaments in shades of pink on the packaging. The shadows consist of a bright white, four browns, and a green. The face product inside the Eggnog Latte palette is a blush and the scent is a strong eggnog scent.
From top to bottom the first three shadows are Frosty Nog, a light cream matte; Eggnog Latte, gold shimmer; and Iced Coffee, a warm-brown shimmer.
From top to bottom the last three shadows are Skinny Latte, a camel brown matte; Cold Brew, a brown with silver shimmer; and Central Perk, a emerald green shimmer.
The blush in Eggnog Latte is a coral-pink matte called Peach Cobbler.
Too Faced Grand Hotel Palette Review
I absolutely love all of the packaging for the Too Faced Grand Hotel Palette. The outer hotel packaging is super cute and I love that if you want to break up the set that they have gift tags already printed on the packaging. I also like that they themed each palette and that the packaging, shadows, and scent for that palette go together so well. However, from there it’s a bit murky. For example, a lot of the shadows are patchy and streaky. A great example of this are Cold Brew from the Eggnog Latte palette and Winter Dream from the Gingerbread Cookie palette, the shimmer for Winter Dream is almost like an overspray and it gives the shadow a funny feel while Cold Brew is almost non-existent when used. That being said I’m in love with Central Perk from the Gingerbread Cookie palette and all of the Peppermint Mocha palette! My only other issue with the Too Faced Grand Hotel Palette is the scent. While it doesn’t bother me if you are sensitive to fragranced products you’re going to want to give this a pass because the scent gets strong as you dig into the products.
Overall, if you’re looking for a gift that can be split between multiple people or are a big fan of collecting holiday packets then you should for sure purchase this. However, if you’re sensitive to fragrances or want to purchase a palette that is strongly consistent overall then this is a for sure pass!
Would you gift these or keep them?

I love all of the colors. I don’t wear makeup, but if I did I would want the Eggnog Latte palette.
I absolutely adore that palette! The colors are just the right combo of subdued and intense.

I liked that Gingerbread cookies with the browns went with a bronzer instead of a blush.
