Due to everything we had going on during the months of September and October, I missed sharing the September Ipsy Bag and almost missed sharing my October Ipsy Bag Review! Luckily, I remembered about my October Ipsy Bag Review with a few days to spare. I’m actually going to share a look and list of the items I received in my September bag as well towards the bottom. If you want to know what was in my September and October Ipsy Bags and what I thought of them, just keep scrolling!
Ipsy’s October Theme and Bag
The theme for the October Ipsy Bag was Spellbound and I think the bag itself really goes with that! This month’s bag was a maroon color with a faux lace design printed on the top of it. The zipper pull was in the shape of a bat with Ipsy printed on it. My only issue with the bag for October is that the shape of the bag actually makes it a little difficult to get larger items in and out of the bag. If you have smaller items then this would be great for that but if you’re wanting to put lip or eye liners in it, you’re going to have some problems.
Eyeliner
The first item in my October Ipsy Bag is a sample of the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion, which is a matte black shade. I actually have the full-size of this eye pencil and LOVE it so this will be going into the giveaway pile so that one lucky subscriber will be able to enjoy it as well. More details on that soon!
Mascara
The second item in my October Ipsy Bag is a sample of the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara, which I have tons of samples of and I also have the full-size as well. I really do like this mascara and recommend it as one for others to try as well. Since I have so many samples of this it would normally go into the giveaway pile as well, however, there is no seal on the tube so instead it will be going to a friend or family member.
Concealer
The third item in my October Ipsy Bag is a sample of the Hey Honey Trick and Treat Concealer. I thought at first that this was a gimmick item but it turns out that this is an actual product sold by Hey Honey! The Trick and Treat Concealer is an Active Propolis Cream Concealer so it treats as well as conceals and a little bit goes a LONG way!
Eye Cream
The fourth item in my October Ipsy Bag is the Context Vitamin C All Day Eye Cream and it is full-size! This eye cream is supposed to be revitalizing and hydrating and have preventative botanicals with in it. My first impressions of it are that it’s not really a cream so it’s very runny which can make it difficult to apply to the eye area. I’ll have to use it a bit more and report back on it!
Loose Eyeshadow
The last item in my October Ipsy Bag is the Meech and Mia Loose Eyeshadow in Beige and it is full-size! Products like this are why I love subscribing to beauty subscriptions. This is a brand I’ve never heard of and, honestly, probably wouldn’t have tried on my own. However, since it was my Ipsy bag I gave it a try. So far my only issue with this eyeshadow is that the brand uses a sifter style jar and they put a sticker over the sifter for shipping, like most companies do. Most companies usually use clear stickers with a pull-tab on one side so it’s easy to remove and gain access to the shadow but Meech and Mia did not do this and that sticker was on TIGHT. While I appreciate the safety of my shadow it was a little annoying trying to remove. As for the shadow itself, it’s a gorgeous color but I’ll have to play it some more to find out about wear time, blendability, etc.

September Ipsy Bag
As you can see the September Ipsy Bag was a black, faux-studded bag with black tassels that have Ipsy in gold. Charlotte, the co-founder of Korean Beauty site Soko Glam, was the guest editor for the September bag. Due to this each bag contained one Korean Beauty item which for my bag was the E Nature Sleeping Mask. All of the items from the September Ipsy Bag are listed below with their values!

E Nature Birch Juice Hydro Sleeping Mask | 2.5 oz. | $28.00 | 0.4 oz. | $4.48 |

Final Thoughts on September and October Ipsy Bags
Out of the two bags October for sure had the better value, $90 versus $41, but I think that I really liked the items that came in the September bag more. September had more items that I hadn’t tried but wanted to and you can never go wrong with an extra makeup brush! That’s one of the reasons I love Ipsy, sometimes you have bags that have less product value but more personal value and sometimes it’s the opposite.

It’s interesting that there was such a big difference in value from one month to the next. The October box had so much good stuff in there.
Haven’t heard of Ipsy before. Looks like a great subscription product with a really good value
I will have to try this out! I don’t wear makeup to often but this will let me try something new each month!
I’ve been looking into Ipsy and joining their subscriptions because their boxes look so cool! Glad I came across this post, looks so cute!!
I used to subscribe to the Ipsy bags, and they were always loaded down with great stuff, including top of the line name brands.
Spellbound does seem like a really appropriate theme for the October bag. It looks like a bunch of bewitching products. 🙂
This sounds like a great bag! I like the fact that you get so many products in it! I’ve seen a few scabby subscription services!
I’m not subscribed so it’s awesome to know what you’re getting in case I do someday. I think you’re getting really good products that are worth trying!
Those bags were great but the October value is amazing. I would use all those things especially mascara and concealer, thanks for the review.
I love the color of the bag and its simple design. The items inside were great too, I’d love to try some of them.
So many goodies in this bag definitely make it seem worthwhile, especially the urban decay eyeliner. I love the little bat on the zipper as well! So cute!
It looks like October was a good month for Ipsy. I used to get it, but I paused my subscription for a while. It may be time to start it back up though.
Thank you for the honest comparison between the September and October bag! I love the beige eyeshadow from the October bag!
I love all the Ipsy bags. Recently I started putting small tubes of toothpaste, a travel toothbrush and $5 in them and keep them in my car to give to the homeless on the street corners. If they approach me, I give them a bag.
This is such an amazing idea! I’m going to have to gather up the Ipsy bags that I have and do this myself!
I think my daughter gets this one! I’m not sure but she’s the make-up junkie in the family. It looks to me like this subscription is really worth it!
These IPSY boxes are such a great value! I’m loving the look of that facial cleanser with the pumpkin and walnut in this month’s box. Heavenllllly. 🙂
This sounds like it was a great bag this month! Great name too with the October/Halloween season!
I’ve never heard about this, but it looks like such a good deal! You got so many good things for only $10. And I love the color of the bag!
For $10 a month this isn’t a bad deal at all! Gives you a chance to try new product, see what you love and buy even more! There are so many beauty products out there to choose from!
I had not heard of this before. These products all look great! i will definitely check this out more!!
The difference in value in the two bags is striking, but I agree with you, I think September had more fun things to try. I’ve put my monthly subscription boxes on hold for awhile since I have so many products to use up.
I have always wanted to try IPSY. What a great value. The bag is super cute and the products are amazing!
I think I would love to get something in the mail like this every month. What fun products to try out and some of the brands I have never heard of before!!
What a great bag full of so many awesome samples this month! I really like the loose eyeshadow and I’m sure it was tons of fun for Halloween. It’s such a great fall color with oranges and reds being so popular right now!
The Ipsy bag has always had so much incredible stuff in it. I need to try out a subscription!
Love this month’s collection! The bag is also very fall! I have tried that concealer before and it’s magical…lol. For someone who is into makeup, these monthly bags are amazing. Great way to try something and learn of other things that you might not have known about before.

I love beauty subscription box companies, because it is a wonderful way for me to discover new brands and products. However, I haven’t tried this company before. I definitely need to, though!
