It’s almost the end of the month so that means that it’s time for the August Ipsy Bag Reveal. This month had a few changes for the Ipsy bag so if you’re wondering what those were, and want to see what was in my Ipsy bag, make sure to check out the video below. You can also keep scrolling to see my August Ipsy Bag Reveal.
About Ipsy
Ipsy cost $10/month and you get 4 – 5 beauty samples that run from mini to deluxe to full-size. Products can be from drugstore, independent, or high end brands and can also be cruelty free and non-cruelty free. To cancel your Ipsy subscription you need to do so by 3pm EST on the last day of the month and you HAVE to click on the link in the cancel confirmation email that you will receive.
Bag & Theme
The theme for August’s Ipsy Bag was “Good Vibes Only”. I don’t know if the contents hold to the theme but the bag surely does. The first change for the August Ipsy bag was that for the month of August there were different bag variations sent out. Now I’m not talking contents, there’s always been variation there, but the actual bag itself. There were three different bags that were sent out and I received the “Wild & Free” bag, the other two were “Good Vibes Only” and “Peace Love Lipstick”. I actually had the sneak peek up up on my Facebook page so for information like that make sure you like and follow the page here.
Paula Dorf Brow Pencil
The first item in my August Ipsy Bag is the Paula Dorf Universal Brow Pencil in Taupe. I believe I already have the full-size of this brow pencil so I’ll either be passing this on to a friend or popping it into a giveaway!
Make Up For Ever Mascara
The second item in my August Ipsy Bag is the Make Up For Ever Excessive Lash Mascara in, I’m assuming, black. I actually saw one of the YouTubers I watch talk about this mascara before I received my bag so when I saw it in there I was super excited. I’ll actually be reviewing this on the blog in a few weeks!
Catrice Highlighter
The third item in my August Ipsy Bag is the Catrice Highlighting Powder in Champagne Campaign and this is a full-size item! This is another product that I saw a YouTuber rave about and I was super excited to see in the bag. However, if you watch the video above you’ll notice that when you swatch it you get good pigmentation on your finger but there’s hardly any when you swatch it. I’m going to try it with different brushes, wet application, etc. to see if it gets any better and will pop up a review in a few weeks as well.
Pacifica Blush Duo
The fourth item in my August Ipsy Bag is the Pacifica Coconut Blush Duo which I totally thought was a full-size product but it turns out that it actually isn’t! If you watch the video you’ll see the size of this thing and will possibly feel my astonishment as well. Both of these shades are very pretty but they are very powdery and of the shades constantly dusts away to almost nothing.
First Aid Beauty Cleanser
The last item in my August Ipsy Bag is the First Aid Beauty Deep Cleanser with Red Clay. This is a foaming cleanser so once you add water to it it’ll give you a nice deep clean. This is meant for normal to oily skin, don’t ask me why I received it, however since it’s for unclogging pores I’ll use it as a once a week deep cleanser for my pores.
Final Thoughts on August Ipsy Bag Reveal
Honestly, I felt like this month’s bag didn’t fit the theme or really have a cohesiveness that last month did. That being said I am very excited for several of the products in the bag, I loved the way the bag itself looked, and I can’t wait to review some of these new-to-me products!

It sounds like there was some good stuff in there! I can’t wait to hear your reviews on the products – especially that mascara.
I used to love getting the Ipsy bags! I stopped sometime a couple of years ago because I just wasn’t into the colors that they were choosing to send me. This bag though looks like a winner!
I love the bag for ipsy this month! Sometimes they have the most creative bag. Sucks that the pacifica duo dusts away and wow is it huge!
I’ve heard of the Ipsy bag. It’s great for those who want to try new makeup products and see what they like and maybe want to buy frequently of their now new favorite brand.
I’m really curious about that deep cleanser! I’d love to give it a try. I love learning about skin care and what works and what doesn’t! You got a pretty awesome loot for August!
While I am not a huge wearer of makeup, I love reading about what is available out there. I definitely like the look of the highlighter.
I love Ipsy, they always have really great products in their bags. I had cancelled mine a while back but I am tempted to start up again
You got some real goodies there. I love that they send you a different bag each month. That was one of my favorite things.
I definitely need to try this one out! I love make up subscription companies and I think this one looks absolutely amazing.
That was a nice bag this month. I would love the mascara or the facial cleanser. I will keep this bag in mind if i am ordering a monthly.
I agree, I don’t see how the items fit the theme either. I’ve heard great things about Catrice products so I would be most excited to try that highlighter.
When I got Ipsy bags the colors were usually way off for me. I loved it when i got mascara or brushes though.
That deep cleanser is what I need right now. I have been searching for cleansers for sensitive skin and have no luck. I am going to absolutely give this one a try because my face is in hell these days.

What a great bag! The blush would probably be my favorite of everything included. Such pretty colors!
Those look like some fun bag items! Wow! I haven’t gotten ipsy yet, but the more i see, the more I’m curious!
Ipsy has definitely tempted me a few times. They have the most interesting things and the really chic makeup bags! I was thinking of giving a subscription as gifts during the holidays too!
