I’ve been testing out toners quite a bit lately. Testing them against each other and testing to see if they actually do anything. Last week I reviewed the Pixi Glow Tonic, read that review here, which is an exfoliating toner with 5% glycolic acid. This week I’m talking about the Derma E Essentials Radiance Toner and telling you what exactly it is, what it’s supposed to do, and if it actually works. For my thoughts, just keep scrolling!

About Derma E Essentials Radiance Toner

The Derma E Essentials Radiance Toner is another exfoliating toner, which means that while it does the base things a toner is supposed to do (regulate the skin’s pH after cleansing and remove any dirt or makeup left behind) it will also exfoliate the skin. An exfoliating toner can be a good way to condense steps and combine exfoliating with toning, however, you may still want to do a strong exfoliation every once in awhile if you have dry skin or wear a lot of beauty products. An exfoliating toner can also be a good way for someone with sensitive or dry skin to exfoliate more often. I usually can only use “normal” exfoliators once-a-week due to the fact that they strip my skin, however, with an exfoliating toner I can do slight exfoliation each day!

The Derma E Essentials Radiance Toner also has glycolic acid in it, like the Pixi Glow Tonic, however, the Derma E toner also contains botanicals like Rosehip. Why is this important? While the glycolic acid is removing the dead skin, the botanicals come in and revive the skin leaving the complexion radiant. Another thing to note about the Derma E toner is that it’s a flip-top pour-out toner. This means that you can pour the amount of product you need onto fabric or a cotton pad and not have to much or to little!

Ingredients

Caprylic / Capric Triglyceride (Plant Derived), Organic Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Organic Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil, Polyglyceryl-2 Caprate, Polyglyceryl-2 Sewquioleate, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Rosa Damascena (Rose) Flower Oil, Natural Fragrance Oils

Derma E Essentials Radiance Toner Review

Derma E Essentials Radiance Toner Pad || Southeast by Midwest #dermae #beauty #bbloggers #beautyguru #skincare

I used the Derma E Essentials Radiance Toner exclusively for several weeks. I applied it to a cotton pad and wiped around my face after my cleanser and before my serum in the mornings. I found that the Derma E toner actually did a great job of picking up left over makeup, dirt, and other residue and it left my skin feeling more normal than most other toners. As for the exfoliating properties, I couldn’t tell that the Derma E was exfoliating upon application due to the fact that it didn’t dry out on the cotton pad as fast as other tones and therefore didn’t have the drag that others do. That being said, I could tell after the fact that it was actually pulling dead skin from my face, especially around the areas where I have eczema patches. The radiance part might be my favorite part of the Derma E toner, before applying my serum and moisturizers I could already see that my skin had a glow to it that wasn’t from the added oils that were incoming! I will say though that there is a slight rose scent (due to the rosehips) that can linger for a few minutes so if you’re not a rose fan you may want to skip. However, I usually HATE the scent of roses and it didn’t bother me in the slightest.

Overall I really enjoyed the Derma E Essentials Radiance Toner. It did what it claimed it would do and left my skin looking amazing in the process. I would suggest that if you’re looking for a toner, looking to combine steps in your skin care routine, or are looking to try toners out to see if they actually do anything then you check out this Derma E toner! For myself, this has become my go to toner and I will be repurchasing!

  7. I’ve never even heard of an exfoliating toner. Very interesting. I use a toner nightly. It seems that my face wash doesn’t do the greatest of jobs, and a toner seems to help clean away what was left behind.
