Since the Hubs and I don’t have children we decided to celebrate our Christmas a little early this year. I saved up and gave the Hubs a gift card to a bookstore and he was able to enlarge his Stephen King collection with what turned out to be a few first editions! He, in turn, saved up and gave me a gift card that allowed me to get a few beauty items at Sephora thus putting me into VIB Rouge status. While I may not have ever mentioned this on the site, VIB Rouge is something I’ve wanted to hit since it was introduced, however, I just wasn’t that into higher end makeup at the time and it just didn’t make sense at that time. Now that I’m more into makeup for the quality and not getting it for as cheap as I can, it was the perfect time.
I will mention that I did take advantage of quite a few coupons and sales that were going on so I did get quite a few products without spending a lot of money. That being said there are WAY to many products to cover and make this a decent sized post sooo I’m going to cover just a few and if you want to see what else I purchased then check out the video above!
The first item that I’m going to cover in the blog post is the Disney Collection Cinderella Compact. I knew from the moment I started looking online that I was going to be ordering one of the Disney Collection compacts, however, I was certain that it was going to be the Elsa & Anna compact as I’m not really a huge fan of Cinderella, Snow White, or Aurora. When I got to the site though and I saw all of them I knew immediately that I had zero interest in the Elsa & Anna compact and instead had to narrow it down between the other three!
I ultimately chose the Cinderella compact because it seemed to be the best done. Not only is the clock on the front excellent but the quote on the back just called to me. For those who can’t see it the quote on the back says:
“The right shoe can transform your life”
The next item that I’m going to talk about on the blog is the Make Up For Ever Cult Brush Set. I decided to get this because I’ve been wanting to try out some new brushes for my #KitWorthy series. I didn’t want to go all out and buy a whole set and windup not liking them so when I saw that Make Up For Ever had this mini set of cult favorites I figured this would be a great one to go with. Plus look at that gorgeous bag! This set comes with four brushes:
- Medium #106 Foundation Brush
- Medium #152 Highlighter Brush
- Medium #226 Eye Shader Brush
- #260 Bent Eyeliner Brush
- #270 Angled Eyebrow Brush
The last item that I’m talking about on the blog is the Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca Remix Studded Kiss Lip Set. This set comes with seven mini Kat Von D Studded Lipsticks in the original package and one full-size Kat Von D Studded Lipstick in limited edition packaging. The shades of the four minis in the back-row (from left to right) are; Bachelorette, Sexer, Wolvesmouth, and Noble. The three minis in the middle row (from left to right) are; NaYeon, Coven, and Halo. While the full-size shade is Gold Blooded.

What a haul! My daughter loves and uses the beauty blender. I’m not that crazy about it and I went back to my foundation brush. She says I’m probably not using it correctly. 🙂 And I’m really into the Kat Von D contour palette (or whatever you call it). Love Nars, too.
It could be that you’re not but it could just be that a brush works better with that foundation. I have found that the beautyblender does not work the same with all foundations and with some it just absorbs the foundation like a…well a sponge lol.
I love Cinderella. My daughter dressed up like her when we met her in Disney last year. The compact is beautiful and I love the quote.
My niece is obsessed with Ariel so I’m hoping they release a second collection with more princesses so I can get that one for her.
Such wonderful choices, but I covet that brush set. It looks classy and useful – just what I need!

Your hubs sounds like a cool dude. I am also a Stephen King fan but I am more of a movie buff. Sounds like you guys had a serios win win situation there. Maybe if I get my wife one of those makeup brush sets she will let me get a 2015 Ford F150 Raptor? Sounds like an even trade right?

I was so happy when I got them and actually got to them that they felt as great as they looked! Sometimes that isn’t the case. Can’t wait to see if they work as good as they feel and look lol.
Wow, this looks like quite the haul. I’ve always wanted to actually buy something from Sephora instead of just window shop.

I don’t know anything about Sephora. I kinda just get my make-up where ever its cheapest, but I don’t wear make-up that much. I might dapple in Sephora one day when I return to work and need to have a professional image.
Oh I’m definitely going to need to pick some of these up!

I am not a huge makeup wearer but everyone I know who uses Sephora absolutely loves it! Maybe its about time I give it a try 🙂
