BA Star Tropical Palette Review

Purchase: BA Star Tropical Palette

Price: $8.75

As I mentioned in my previous BA Star review, there makeup is geared towards cheer and dance teams. Due to this colors are highly pigmented and very eye catching. I was provided the BA Star Tropical Palette to review by BA Star and Brandbacker, however, all opinions are my own.

Ease of Application

The BA Star Tropical Palette shadows went on really well, actually much better than the Smokey Palette shades did. There was hardly any fallout from these shadows and they blended really well.

Score: 10 out of 10

Color

The color pigmentation for the BA Star Tropical Palette was actually really really good. The shades are all really bright and stay that way swatch after swatch. The pigmentation isn’t just during swatching either, they are just as pigmented when applied to the lids.

Score: 10 out of 10

Feel

The feel of the BA Star Tropical Palette is a big improvement over the Smokey Palette as well. With the Smokey palette the shimmery shades were grainy and the matte shades were super dusty. However, the Tropical palette is not like that at all. The shimmer is a lot smaller in the Tropical palette which means that the shadows are not as grainy.

Score: 9 out of 10

Lasting Power

The BA Star Tropical Palette is similar to the Smokey Palette in that the shadow did last longer than what I thought they would considering it is only an $8 palette. If you do have a very good primer you could get a bit longer out of them.

Score: 6 out of 10

This would have been really useful when my daughter was into theatre! We always had trouble finding makeup that showed up when she was on stage.

Those are great colors! I’m sorry to hear that they don’t have much lasting power though – especially since they’re made for girls that need it to stay on for the duration of their event.

My first thought was that I could never pull off those colors and couldn’t think of many who could. But then I read that they’re made for cheer and dance teams and realized THAT is who could absolutely pull it off! Good to see that it is has a pretty great overall score- definitely one those on cheer and dance teams should look into!

Love the strong pigment in those colors! One problem I find is colors that do not have a strong enough pigment, so they do not really show correctly> These look great!
