I posted Wednesday about M.A.C. releasing the Viva Glam Rihanna lipstick and lipglass for purchase. For those who don’t know Rihanna has partnered with M.A.C. again this time for the release of a Viva Glam product. Essentially when you purchase either, or both, of these products 100% of the price that you pay goes to M.A.C.’s HIV Awareness Fund. I was able to pick up one of each as soon as they went on sale!
Ease of Application
Lipstick – The Viva Glam Rihanna Lipstick is a frost lipstick which means that it has little sparkle pigments mixed into the formula. Sometimes I find that non-M.A.C. frosted lipsticks tend to drag when applying them. This was not the case with this particular lipstick. It glided on beautifully, did not skip or drag, and was consistent all the way through application.
Lipglass – The Viva Glam Rihanna Lipglass has a lipgloss wand applicator which makes for a smoother application. However, in typical lipgloss fashion the lipglass bottle tends to pull a lot of product off of the applicator making for a patchier application. I will say that while I did have to dip back into the bottle a couple of times I found this to be a better application than a typical lipgloss due to how easily the product slid on.

Color
Lipstick – The color payoff for the Viva Glam Rihanna Lipstick is absolutely GORGEOUS. It’s red with a hint of shimmer to it, but to much shimmer. The color is not super overpowering at all and I felt that I was able to pull it off with a full face of makeup and with no makeup at all. Also, the color was opaque with the first swipe.
Lipglass – The Viva Glam Rihanna Lipglass color payoff on it’s own is equally as gorgeous as the lipstick. It gives a slight red tint to the lips while adding glossiness and sparkle to them as well. HOWEVER, where the lipglass really looks it’s best is when it’s layered over the top of the lipstick!

Feel
Lipstick – The Viva Glam Rihanna Lipstick feels super moisturizing on the lips and doesn’t dry them out at all. I wore this for several hours and had no problems with chapped lips or peeling. It also does not feel gritty either.
Lipglass – The lipglass for the most part has a good feel, however, sometimes it can feel a bit sticky on the lips. I also did catch my hair on it a time or two. However, it was also very moisturizing and did not dry out my lips.
Score: Lipstick 10 out of 10 || Lipglass 9 out of 10
Lasting Power
Lipstick – The lipstick had FANfreakingTASTIC lasting power. I was put this on and was able to wear it for several hours, eat, drink, and still wear it. It did have some fade to it, however, it left my lips with a stained look instead of a “worn off patchy lipstick” look.
Lipglass – The lipglass had incredible lasting power for a lipgloss style product. I was able to eat and drink for the most part but if you were having a long meal this would probably wear off before the end of it. As it is a M.A.C. product I do wish it had lasted a bit better during eating.

I love lipstick, but my issue is that I don’t wear it all that much and end up smearing it across my face. Every time. I need to wear it more so I stop doing that lol.
Those are some pretty colors. I love wearing lip gloss but hate when my hair sticks in it.
I do love me some Mac LipGlass! I’ve never tried their lipstick though, I should pick some up!

The fact the lip products didn’t dry out your lips is huge with me. I have a perpetual lip dryness issue!
