I received a full-size sample of the Studio Gear CC Cream in Linen from Studio Gear to review. Studio Gear says that this CC (Color Correction) Cream hydrates, prevents fine lines and wrinkles, and brightens and illuminates. The unique thing that I found about this CC Cream is that it came out of the tube super white but changed colors as you blended it into the skin, more on that in the review. As always, my reviews are 100% my opinion and have not been influenced by the company.

Ease of Application

The Studio Gear CC Cream was super easy to blend in, however, I had issues with the color of the formula. Due to the fact that the product was white and changed colors while you were blending it was sometimes hard to tell where you had enough product and where you needed more. As such, my application came out super patchy and I had to go back in several times to fix it.

Score: 6 out of 10

Color

I thought the white color was pretty cool and unique, especially how it changed colors as I applied it. I found that the cream blended in very well to my natural skin tone once I got it all applied. I will say that this was a bit yellow so if you’re a fair person I don’t know if this would color match down for you or not.

Score: 9 out of 10

Feel

The product out of the bottle was a bit grainy, however, those blended right in. As for the feel once it was dried, it dried to a matte velvety finish. I had no complaints about the feel of the product at all.

Score: 10 out of 10

Lasting Power

I wore the Studio Gear CC Cream for around 10 hours on the day that I tested it. I went out in the South Carolina heat, I’m glad that it has the 20 SPF, to run errands and didn’t have to touch up throughout the day at all. It actually could have gone past the 10 hours, however, I needed to go to bed so I pulled it off. It also didn’t break me out any.

  1. I love using products that have built in SPF in them. Wearing sunscreen daily is so important to me. I may give this product a try – my current cream only has SPF15.

    • Living in South Carolina I love anything that can give me an extra SPF boost. I was using a SPF 15 one as well but this one did a really great job. The day I wore it I got a little burn on my arms and neck, my face got NOTHING!

  2. That would be weird seeing it come out white. I have heard of CC makeup but have never used any. I am definitely on the very fair side so wonder if it would be too yellow for me. Thank you for your honest review!

    • Anytime 🙂 It doesn’t do the company or myself any favors sugar coating or lying about things. More importantly it doesn’t do YOU any favors as this is a bit of a pricey product. If you splurge, purchase it, and it’s to yellow you’ll never trust my reviews again. 😀

  3. Love your honest opinions here! I always look for products with SPF – it’s something I’ve read that everyone should wear each day and having it in your make-up makes that one less step for me!

    • Exactly! If nothing else your primer should have it in it but I like it when the top layer has that protection 🙂

  4. I always try to make sure whatever I use on my face has a built in SPF. As far as the cream goes, I think the color changing cream would be an issue for me. I need something that’s super quick, so having to blend and touch up is more time than I’m will to invest.

    • It’s for sure not a “throw on and go” product, which I’ve been loving lately. It would probably work really well for those who have the time to sit and get that flawless face look.

  5. Thanks for a great review. I love BB/CC creams, especially during the summer when I want something light.

    • BB Creams are my go to during the summer. I hardly ever use foundation once the heat kicks in 😉

  6. I was getting use to the BB creams and now they already have CC creams. I love makeup but sometimes it’s hard to keep up with all the new stuff they change too. Love that it has SPF which is something I look for in a foundation since i’m so stinking pale.

    • AND Julep has the DD Cream so they’re actually already moving past the CC Cream!

  7. I’ve never used a BB cream and now I feel completely clueless about all things makeup! HAHA!
I do want to try this (or something like this) though. I love anything with SPF in it- especially now that we live in Georgia.

    • We live in South Carolina and I never realized how moving just one state down can have such a drastic change on the skin. SPF is so much more important now!

  8. It’s so hard to keep up with all these letters…can we jump ahead to the ZZ cream already? I could really use something to help me sleep at night 😉 HAHA

    • HA! I could get behind that cream 🙂

  9. I’ll have to give this one a try!

  10. I have no idea what BB or DD or whatever cream is! I know I need to do better about using *something* on my face. I’m a few years past 30 now, so it’s all downhill from here, right? 😉

  11. I am all about products that have SPF built into them. I wear an SPF on my face every single day. And after 10 hours of wear in the heat, etc…your makeup still looks amazing!

  21. Shoot, so many products have sunscreens in them, which means I can’t use them because I’m allergic to sunscreens! It’s one of my most annoying allergies, especially when I pick up something that I don’t notice has SPF, put it on, and then my skins starts blistering off. Ugh. Stupid allergy!
