For the longest time all I had for a mirror was a smaller plastic light-up mirror that the light broke the first time I used it. I still kept that mirror and used it because we aren’t “well-to-do” when it comes to money and I felt that the spare money we had would be better spent in upgrading my collection with items to review as opposed to a mirror that you never see. After awhile it got to the point where I was using palette mirrors because the plastic one just wasn’t cutting it anymore. Around my birthday this year the Hubs told me that I WAS getting a nicer mirror for my vanity but that he was letting me choose. I chose an 8” double sided round mirror from the company Mirrorvana and have loved it for the past few months. Imagine my surprise when a few weeks back Mirrorvana contacted me and asked if I’d like to review their new 9×7 rectangular mirror…um yes please!!!
I received a coupon code from Mirrorvana to purchase the 9×7 Rectangular Mirror through Amazon Prime and I ordered it. I’m not going to go into a lot of details about shipping and whatnot due to the fact that I ordered it through Prime. The order processed fast and Amazon shipped it via UPS and it arrived in one piece. Mirrorvana puts a lot into their packaging. I opened the Amazon box to find another box inside and once I opened that box there was another box inside…at about that point I was torn, while I was super thankful for the extra protection, opening that many boxes can be a bit tedious especially if there’s a Ducky involved (if you follow me on Snapchat you will have seen this). Thankfully that did happen to be the last box and when I opened that one there were layers of foam inside, a Ducky dream! Most of the box was filled with a bottom layer of foam that had spaces for the parts of the mirror cut out, the mirror parts were nested into the foam, and there was a thinner layer of foam on top to keep it all from moving!
Did you catch the part about the mirror being in parts above? The other mirror that I purchased myself from Mirrorvana shipped the same way. When I opened the first package I was a bit confused as I didn’t remember reading about having to assemble it and I was afraid I was going to need a screwdriver or Epoxy glue or something. After looking at it for a bit I realized “Oh I just screw the parts together, duh!” and it was that easy. When I received the 9×7 Rectangular Mirror I already knew what to expect so I was ready to just throw this bad boy together and get to viewing…um not so fast though, this mirror was way heavier. Due to it not being lightweight it does take a bit more maneuvering to put it together than the smaller round mirror does, however, I think that heftiness adds to the stability of the mirror.
As for the viewing, the glass surface provides a perfect crisp and clear image plus it’s fairly large. The non-magnifying aspect of the mirror makes for a non-distorted image, which I’m all for. My favorite feature though would have to be the little wand that comes attached to the back of the mirror. Due to it being frameless there really is no way to tilt it without getting prints all over the glass surface unless you use the little wand. Plus I find that using that little wand provides more stability when tilting the mirror.
Overall I think that if you’re in the market for a frameless or rectangular mirror than the Mirrorvana Rectangular Mirror is for you. However, if I’m being 100% honest, and you know I always am, if you’re in the market for any mirror then give any of the Mirrorvana mirrors a chance. I now have two of them and I absolutely love both of them.
