Due to my being a Try the World affiliate I was approached about reviewing their newer snack box. The Hubs and I love the items that come in the Try the World box so we for sure wanted to see what the Snack Box was like. As someone who is on a gluten free diet I can tell you I was very excited to see all the gluten free snacks in the Try the World Snack Box for August 2016
Pop Notch Marshmallow Popcorn || Pop Notch’s Marshmallow Popcorn comes from Ireland and is “unashamedly tasty”. While the popcorn is made from scratch and with natural ingredients, Pop Notch puts in flavors that make it delicious. These were good if a little to sweet.
Sa Mai Plantain Chips in Pacific Sea Salt || Sa Mai’s Plaintain Chips come from Ecuador and are made using an ancestral recipe. While these were similar to crisp banana chips, these had a more savory than sweet taste to them.
Natural Sins Crispy Pineapple Chips || Natural Sins Crispy Pineapple Chips come from Costa Rica and include the entire pineapple! That’s right each chip is made by just slicing all the way through leaving the meat, the core, and the rind intact. Natural Sins also make Crispy Chips using coconuts, beets, and mangos. The pineapple chips were pretty good but can taste like eating spun sugar.
Frootiva Apple Bites Covered in Acai || Frootiva’s acai covered apple pieces come from Brazil and are dehydrated bits of apple covered in acai. The box contains three packets of the product and it is all natural. These weren’t my favorite item in the box as I’m not a big fan of acai, however, my mother-in-law seemed to really enjoy theme!
Hazer Baba Turkish Delight Rose Petals || Hazer Baba’s Turkish Delight Rose Petals are made in Turkey and contain actual rose petals! The Hubs and I were both super intrigued by these as soon as we saw them in the box. They are gummies covered in a little bit of powdered sugar and they do have rose petals in the center of the gummies and they taste of rose.
Overall, we really enjoyed this box and can’t wait to try another box. These are treats that we normally wouldn’t purchase for ourselves but if we run across something similar in the grocery store we will probably now pickup. If you’re wanting to try International foods but aren’t to the point where you want to make a full meal out of it then the Try the World Snack Box would be a great start!
