It’s the middle of February so that means it’s time for one thing…beauty favorites! We’re staring out 2018 Favorites with January which means that although my first 2018 Favorites post isn’t going up until February I’m still on track for the year, funny how that works. Let’s jump in and see what all is in the first of my 2018 Favorites!
2018 Favorites | Hair
The first two products in my January 2018 Favorites are a shampoo and conditioner that I received in my January Birchbox, read about that here. They were the Oribe Gold Lust Restore & Repair Shampoo ($154 for 33.8 oz. from Birchbox) and the Oribe Gold Lust Restore & Repair Conditioner ($182 for 33.8 oz. from Birchbox) and yes even I’m O.O at those prices! However, the condition of my hair after just one wash, let alone multiple washes, has me hooked on these and I’m going to be so sad when my samples are up because honey, mama can’t afford those prices!
The next product in my January 2018 Favorites is the DevaCurl Wave Maker ($26 for 5 oz. from Sephora, Ulta, and Nordstrom). Back in November I had to go to a salon and get my hair cut because it had gotten so tangled that I couldn’t detangle it on my own. While the stylist was able to remove all of the tangles without having to cut into the hair that much I still made the decision to cut off some length and do an undercut to thin it down some. When he started cutting off inches we made a miraculous discovery…my hair which had been ramrod straight was actually wavy bordering on curly! When he was done cutting and styling I was SHOOK by how different my hair looked and of COURSE I had to purchase the DevaCurl Wave Maker that he used on my hair for use at home…even having taken Cosmetology courses I still fell for the pitch but I’m glad I did because this was one of those times that using the product I’m able to recreate the same look at home as was done in the salon.
2018 Favorites | Skin Care
I’m going to be completely honest and let you know that the last three products for my January 2018 Favorites are all skin care products, that’s right no makeup products for this month (who am I even?). The first skin care product that I’m loving is the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream ($30 for 6 oz. at Sephora and Ulta). My eczema spots have gotten out of control over the past couple of months due to the weather, being sick, and several gluten contamination episodes. I’ve been using the Ultra Repair Cream on them to help them heal and the difference after just one use is amazing. They’re not completely healed as the weather in South Carolina is like someone playing ping-pong and trying to avoid gluten in the South is like trying to avoid water in the ocean, but I’m hoping with continued use they will be!
The next skin care product I’m loving is the Derma e Radiance Toner ($14.95 for 6 oz. at Dermstore), read my review of this toner here. Before we talk about this product I do want to say that YES it was previously sent to me as PR BUT I posted about it and have continued to use and love it and if you take issue with that well I’m sorry because to not include it when I’ve been LOVING it would be dishonest. Seriously, I use this every morning and every evening and I love how my skin looks after just the cleansing and toning step and I feel that skipping this really shows in my later steps. That being said, this isn’t the only toner that I use as I will switch between this and the Pixi Glow Tonic but right now this my go to.
Speaking of Pixi, the last skin care product and the last for the January 2018 Favorites is the Pixi Rose Caviar Essence ($24 for 1.52 oz. at Target), read my review of that here. I mentioned in my review of the Rose Caviar Essence on Tuesday that this is a watery product that adds a lot of hydration. As I also noted above my eczema has my skin begging for hydration so this has been a welcome addition to my skin care routine.

The Pixi and Derma E skincare products sound especially great! I have too many favorites to choose from right now đ
Whether you bought them or were sent them, a favorite is a favorite. If you love the PR product and go buy it again then they’ve created a loyal customer and reviewer.
The Oribe is way pricy. I got a sample duo in a Beautylish order and gave it to my blog partner – she was beyond thrilled even with the sample.
I like both derma e and pixi. I have both and I have been enjoying them
I need to pick up some of that First Aid Beauty cream for my feet! Excited to try that Pici product too!
Wonderful favorites! I LOVE Oribe! They have some of my favorite haircare products!
That DermaE toner sounds fabulous!
Iâve been wondering about the Derma-E Radiance Toner. Always looks big for something that wonât dry out my skin or my sonâs skin. Thank you for your honest review!
