OGX Beauty partnered with beauty YouTuber Kandee Johnson for a hair care line this holiday season. Several bloggers / YouTubers were sent different parts of the collection and I happened to be sent the OGX Frosted Sugar Cookie Shampoo and Conditioner to review. OGX Beauty is a hair care brand that is sold in Ulta and other drugstores. One of the reasons that I continue to share about OGX is what they stand for. OGX Beauty isn’t about “fixing” what is wrong with your hair, instead they are about increasing what you love about your hair. So while you are fixing your issues they are doing it in a way that promotes a better form of self-esteem. Going back to the actual products, OGX Beauty products are pH balanced, which I love, with the following pH’s:

• Shampoo | 4.0 – 6.5
• Conditioner | 3.5 – 6.0
• Body Wash | 6.0 – 7.0
• Lotion | 6.5 – 7.5

having a pH balanced product means that the products won’t strip the skins of the natural oils as much plus in the hair they will help to prevent tangling, frizz, and breakage to name a few!

Kandee Johnson is a makeup artist and YouTuber with over 3 million subscribers. Kandee currently not only has the collaboration with OGX out but also a collaboration with Too Faced which includes an eyeshadow palette and a liquid lipstick. In the video on OGX’s site about the collaboration Kandee essentially says that creating her own hair care line was a dream come true for her and that her first hair care line being with OGX was a no brainer.

Due to the OGX Frosted Sugar Cookie Shampoo and Conditioner being essentially scented regular shampoo and conditioner there’s not a lot to tell about the products themselves. They have the base claims (i.e. moisturizing and having a balanced pH) that all OGX products have but with a Frosted Sugar Cookie scent. I can say that the scent for this, while being sweet, isn’t to sweet which I really like. I will also say that with my super dry scalp that this shampoo and conditioner are not ones I can use on an all the time basis, they just aren’t moisturizing enough for my scalp. That being said, they are super nice to use when I want my hair to smell amazing but not be overpowering and they are also good for those who have a normal scalp (my mother-in-law LOVES using them).

Ultimately if you’re looking for a basic shampoo and conditioner that moisturizes normal hair and has a nice but not overpowering scent then you will want to check out the OGX Frosted Sugar Cookie Shampoo and Conditioner. The only reason NOT to pick this up is if you just have a super dry scalp, like myself, but unlike me you don’t like to use a basic shampoo that smells good every once in awhile OR you just don’t like the scent. That being said, there are two other scents in this line, Candy Gumdrop and Sparkling Cider, that you may want to give a sniff to if you don’t like the Frosted Sugar Cookie scent.
