It’s the first day of 2018 and what better way to celebrate a new year than to look back at all that you did in the previous year. Another YouTuber, Samantha March, came up with the idea of a 2017 YouTube Rewind Tag and I decided to participate as well. To see the questions and my answers to them check out the video below or keep scrolling!
What was the first video you posted in 2017?
The first video that I put up in 2017 was the Maybelline New Year Releases where I talked about the Maybelline 24K Nudes Palette and the Maybelline Colossal Big Shot Mascara.
Do you have a favorite video you created in 2017?
If I had to pick a favorite video of 2017 it would have to be the PUR DreamWorks Trolls Eyeshadow Palette review. I had so much fun making that video and the fact that it has over 2500 views on it makes me so proud!
Do you have a video you made that was outside your comfort zone?
The Urban Decay Full Spectrum Sunset Eye Look would have to be the video I made that was outside of my comfort zone just due to the fact that it was a tutorial. Don’t get me wrong I’m good at doing makeup on other people but not the best at doing it on myself due to my eyesight. So any tutorial video is outside of my comfort zone.
What video did you post on your birthday?
I did not post on my birthday, however, I did post on the 9th of April for the Smashbox x Casey Holmes Spotlight Palette in Pearl. I wound up loving the palette, which I’m glad about since I picked it only because I was a fan of Casey’s from back in her itsblondie days.
Did you find a new channel or creator in 2017 that you love?
I found three channels in 2017 that I’ve really been enjoying. The first channel is Samantha Jane who is a Canadian YouTuber who I actually found at the end of 2016 who I’ve really enjoyed watching grow. In 2017 she was able to leave her job and become a full-time YouTuber due to the growth of her channel and as a fan I couldn’t be happier for her! I enjoy her channel because she has a great personality and I also like to use her oily skin recommendations for friends and clients (haha!)
The next channel that I found in 2017 is Samantha March who I found linked in a beauty group that I’m in. I like a lot of the videos that she does and she has a great personality. Oh and she’s the one that created this tag!
The last channel that I found in 2017 was Katie Marie who is the blogger behind From My Vanity. I followed her blog and Instagram for a while now and was super excited to hear she was creating a YouTube channel in 2017. Her channel has grown so fast and I’m so happy for her!
Did you find any new brands you love in 2017?
I actually found three brand in 2017 that I’ve been loving. The first is Kenra Professional Hair Care line who makes the Snail Anti-Aging Shampoo, Conditioner, and CC Cream. They may sound disgusting but they do amazing things for my hair and I’m loving them. The next brand that I found is Lorac, which has been around for A WHILE but I’ve only stared using their products in 2017. I started with the Pirates of the Caribbean palette and have gotten other items to talk about for 2018! The last brand is Origins which I found through Influenster. I received their Ginzing Cleanser, Eye Treatment, and Moisturizer and still use all three and will probably repurchase all three when they run out!
What is a favorite YouTube memory from 2017?
My favorite memory from 2017 is connecting with Pixi Beauty to talk about different products. However, my favorite memories from connecting with Pixi are receiving the Pixi Pretties set, which you can see here, and then receiving the personalized Glow Tonic pictured above!
How many videos did you publish in 2017?
I published 55 videos in 2017 and while that is at least one a week I’m not proud of the number. I’m hoping this year I’ll do more!
What makes you proud or would you consider an accomplishment in 2017?
Three things made me proud in 2017 and they are:
- Connecting with Pixi
- Hitting 1K subscribers and still growing, even while not posting all the time
- The Trolls video hitting 2500 views!
What are you proud of from 2017?

Glad to see you being active on the blog and youtube. More power in 2018
What a cute tag! Thanks for sharing.
What a fun tag this is! Well done on publishing 55 videos, and good luck with the YouTubing in 2018! I didn’t know there was a snail-based shampoo. I have to go check out some K-beauty haircare.
I don’t do videos. Don’t know if I’d be brave enough to try something with snail anything in it for my hair!
This is a great idea for a post. I don’t do video since I’m too self conscious about myself but I love watching them and learn so much from them. Keep up the good work.
Wow, 55 videos in one year is certainly impressive to me! Great accomplishment, girl! This is the first time I have heard of haircare products with snail ingredients.
Congrats on such a successful year! It’s always nice when something you’ve pit so much time and effort into does well.
Wow, 55 videos is quite impressive!
Girl, I love that Trolls palette too! So happy you feel the same!
I loved that I got but thought it was going to be gimmicky. I’m so glad that it wasn’t!
Ohh I love the idea of this post. Definitely happy to see you more active again!
