Recently KathleenLights released the KL Polish Summer Collection and since I’d covered the Spring, read that here, and Winter, read that here, you know I HAD to cover the Summer Collection as well. To watch my review and see the polish in action check out the video below and keep scrolling for swatches of the polish as well!
KL Polish Summer Collection “305”
305 is a chartreuse green in a creme finish. I didn’t know what to make of 305 when I saw it in the sneak peeks or in person. However, it performed way better than I thought it would! This is a really great polish and I think the only downside would be if you’re just not a fan of the color.
KL Polish Summer Collection “Porter Miami”
Porter Miami is a cobalt blue in a creme finish. Porter Miami makes the third blue in the KL Polish collection and it is by far my favorite blue and my favorite of this collection. I did this swatch like third in and instantly regretted it because I did NOT want to take it off!
KL Polish Summer Collection “MIA”
MIA is a hot pink with blue undertone in a pearl finish. I really didn’t like the finish of MIA as it dried down with kind of a haze to it. It looked better once topped with top coat but MIA was probably my least favorite of the collection and pink is my favorite color!
KL Polish Summer Collection “Ocean Drive”
Ocean Drive is a teal based mermaid themed polish in a shimmer finish. Ocean Drive would have to be my second least favorite polish in the collection. I know a lot of people like these kind of polishes and I want to like them but this just did not perform as well as the creme polishes in the collection did…it also didn’t last as long (it chipped before I could get back to my desk!).
KL Polish Summer Collection “Magic City”
Magic City is a classic red in a creme finish. When I saw this I was hoping that it could be a dupe for OPI’s Cajun Shrimp (my favorite polish) and it almost could be. My only issue with Magic City is that it stains like ain’t nobody’s business! The babying I had to do with my nails and fingertips was ridiculous!
KL Polish Summer Collection “South Peach”
South Peach is a peach in a creme finish. What is it with the “nude” polishes from KL Polish?! You can ask anyone that knows me, I HATE NUDE POLISHES. I’ve actually mentioned it on my blog or YouTube channel before. However, the nude shades from KL Polish are some of my favorites. I’m not saying the colorful polishes are bad, they’re not, just something in the way the nude KL Polishes look on my nails I’m loving. I did try it with an OPI to see if my tastes have changed, NOPE they haven’t! It’s just with the KL Polish. I KNEW I was going to HATE South Peach so I swatched it first, then what happens…I LOVE IT.
KL Polish Summer Collection Review
If you like bright polishes for the summer, or just anytime, then you need to pick up the KL Polish Summer Collection. If you only like one or two then you need to head over to her site (the only place to get them currently) and pick those up. My suggestion would be to start with South Peach and Porter Miami and only go for Ocean Drive and MIA if you’re absolutely in love with the swatches and don’t mind working with a polish a bit. The rest are fantastic though!
