When I was going through my makeup collection recently I came across my different Urban Decay Naked Palettes, all in different locations I might add, and realized that I have never mentioned all of them on the site before. Now I have reviewed the Urban Decay Naked Smoky on the blog before, read that review here, but I’ve never discussed the other Urban Decay Naked Palettes. If you’re a reader who is a makeup artist, or serious makeup collector, then you probably at least know about these (if not already own most of them) but I wanted to discuss them for my readers who may not know about them and what the differences between each Urban Decay Naked Palette is.
Let’s of course start with the original Urban Decay Naked Palette. The original Urban Decay Naked Palette comes with 12 eye shadows that each have 0.05 grams. The shades in the Urban Decay Naked Palette are neutral that tend more towards the bronze side of the spectrum. The Urban Decay Naked Palette also comes with a double ended shadow brush. My only complaint about this palette is that it doesn’t have a secure way of closing so if you want to travel with it and you don’t secure it with some rubber bands it WILL flop open. The shadows in the Urban Decay Naked Palette are:
Shade Name | Shade Color | Finish | Exclusive |
Virgin | Nude | Satin | No |
Sin | Champagne | Shimmer | No |
Naked | Nude | Matte | No |
Sidecar | Beige | Sparkle | Yes |
Buck | Fawn Brown | Matte | No |

Gunmetal | Dark Grey w/ Silver Micro-glitter | Metallic | No |
The breakdown for the Urban Decay Naked Palette is that you get two shades, out of 12, that are exclusive to the palette (the other ten can be purchased through UrbanDecay.com ). Out of the twelve shadows there are 6 shimmers, 2 metallics, 2 mattes, 1 satin, and 1 sparkle.
The next palette is the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette. Same as the original Urban Decay Naked Palette, the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette comes with 12 eye shadows that each have 0.05 grams. The shades in the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette are still neutrals but ones that are more taupe or beige shaded. The Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette also comes with a double ended shadow brush same as the original palette. I love that the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette switched from the no-closure style of packaging that the original Urban Decay Naked Palette had, plus the color of the palette gives you a peek at what kind of colors you’re in store for. The shadows in the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette are:

The breakdown for the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette is that you get one shade, out of 12, that is exclusive to the palette (all of the other 11 can be purchased through UrbanDecay.com ). Out of the twelve shadows there are 8 shimmers, 3 mattes, 1 metallic, and no satins or sparkles.
The next palette is the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette. The Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette comes with 12 eye shadows that each have 0.05 grams, same as the previous two palettes. The shades in the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette are rose shaded in some way. The Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette also comes with a double ended shadow brush, same as the other two palettes. I think that the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette might be one of my favorite palettes ever, if not it’s at least in my top 5! I not only love the shades of the shadows in this palette but I love that the matched the packaging to the shades that come in it. The shadows in the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette are:

The last Urban Decay Naked Palette is the Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette. As with all the other Urban Decay Naked Palettes, the Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette comes with 12 eye shadows that each have 0.05 grams. The shades in the Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette are smoky neutrals that will help give you a good smoky eye look. Again, the Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette comes with a double ended brush as well. The Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette is another palette that would be in my top 5! Due to how popular smoky eyes are, this palette lives in my kit…when I’m not using it for myself (I always sanitize my makeup!). The shadows in the Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette are:
Shade Name | Shade Color | Finish | Exclusive |
High | Champagne | Shimmer | Yes |

Password | Taupe | Matte | Yes |
Whiskey | Rich Brown | Matte | Yes |
Combust | Pink Taupe | Matte | Yes |
Thirteen | Beige | Satin | Yes |
The breakdown for the Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette is that you get nine shades, out of 12, that are exclusive to the palette (the other 3 can be purchased in the Vice and Vice 2 Palettes). Out of the twelve shadows there are 5 metallics, 3 mattes and satins, 1 shimmer, and no sparkles.
As you can see the Urban Decay Naked Palettes offer a wide variety of options for buyers. If you’re looking for a more neutral palette then the Urban Decay Naked 2 might be want you want to get. If you want neutrals that are a step up on the bronze / shimmer factor then you might want to purchase the original Urban Decay Naked Palette. However, if you’re wanting more color or you tend to prefer smoky looks then the Urban Decay Naked 3 or Urban Decay Naked Smoky might be more your speed. Of course you could just go and get all four!

$54 seems somewhat expensive for an eye pallette. I love eye makeup though. I like to apply it when I sing. I think it is pretty.

I do not currently own any. Phew if I had to choose one to get, I am not sure which one. They are all pretty! I tend to like browns and tans! Those are my favorite!

Oh wow…these palettes are gorgeous. I wear minimal makeup, so this “naked” look is perfect for me. Loving all the colors and variety in these! So pretty!
