It’s the end of the month so by now you should know what time it is…time to unbox the Sephora Play Box for September. September marks my fifth box and I can honestly say that so far I haven’t been disappointed! We’ll have to see if this month keeps with that tradition. Due to the fact that we’re coming up on the half year mark of having the Sephora Play Box subscription I have decided for this box and the next one that I will avoiding any spoilers!

Sephora Play Box: September 2016 Unboxing Contents || Southeast by Midwest #beauty #bbloggers #sephoraplay #subscriptionbox

Tory Burch Fragrance in Jolie Fleur Verte || Top fragrance notes are Lily of the Valley, jasmine, and dewy green accord. The fragrance is designed to an easygoing scent that is more “tomboy” than feminine.

Thoughts: When I saw this perfume sample in the box I got super excited. When I first sprayed it I got super disappointed, tomboy my butt. On initial spray this scent is so feminine and floral it’s unreal. However, very shortly after spraying it that dies down and you the muskiness of it comes out. It combines to a nice feminine but not to feminine scent that I’m loving. I will say that a little goes a long way!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Gel in Clear || Define, set, and hold brows in place all day with a clear gel that can be used by all hair colors. Has a chamomile formula that soothes and conditions.

Thoughts: I received my first one of these in a Birchbox awhile ago. Since then I’ve intentionally picked curated Birchboxes in order to get additional ones, I’ve purchased my own, and now I have this one. I think we can safely assume that I highly recommend this product.

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper || A waterproof liner that is fade resistant along with run resistant. The tip is designed for an easy precise application.

Thoughts: I’ve been wanting to try the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner for awhile so seeing this in the box was great! I’m super excited to try this out with eye looks because when I swatched it on my hand not only was the tip great but the formula was amazing. Usually with eyeliners I always get feathering due to the lines in my hand, this one doesn’t do that!

Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Night Cap Overnight Perfector || Can be used on wet or dry hair before bed to help boost hair overnight. Provides a week of benefits and can last through five shampoos.

Thoughts: I’ve wanted to try this since it first came out so I’m excited it was in the box. One of the things that I like about the Living Proof products is that you don’t have to worry about what scent you’re getting, they all just smell like normal hair care products. I don’t want to tell you how this worked out just yet…you’ll have to wait for a review!

Sephora Collection Rouge Shine Lipstick in Love Spell || Moisturizing lipstick with transparency and shine. Formula contains vitamin E and moisturizing oils to nourish the lips while wearing.

Thoughts: I was excited to receive a lipstick in this month’s box because if you saw my Instagram on National Lipstick Day then you know I love me a lippie. I do love the formula and it has a nice peach scent that isn’t to strong BUT this formula is just too transparent for me. If I’m going to wear a sheer lip product then I’m going to choose a balm that’s chock full of goodies for my lips, not a slightly tinted lip product that’s “phoning it in” in comparison. That being said, I’ll probably keep this in my purse for those times where I’ve popped my balm in my backpack or lab coat and I want something moisturizing and nothing else is around.

Dr. Jart+ Water Drop Hydrating Moisturizer || Provides an instant burst of hydration and then long lasting moisturization for those with dry skin. For everyone it brightens lackluster and dull skin.

Thoughts: This product is absolutely amazing. It comes out of the tube looking like silicone and then as you blend it in some of that silicone turns to water droplets. After you’ve blended in all of the silicone you go back around and pat the water droplets into the skin. I would actually say this is one of my top moisturizers now!

Product Full Size Price My Size Worth
Tory Burch Fragrance 0.20 oz. $29.00 0.05 oz. $7.25
Anastasia Brow Gel 0.28 oz. $22.00 0.085 oz. $6.68
Kat Von D Liner 0.02 oz. $20.00 0.007 $7.00
Living Proof Perfector 4 oz. $28.00 1 oz. $7.00
Sephora Lipstick 0.13 oz. $12.50 0.035 oz. $3.37
Dr. Jart Moisturizer 3.3 oz. $36.00 1 oz. $10.91
Total $42.21

This box was hands down amazing! My only questionable item was the lipstick and I’ll still use it. In all honesty this is the first box where I could see myself purchasing the full sizes of most of the items in the box! This has me super excited for my six month mark!

  • 2018 was a year full of ups and downs One
2 months ago by southeastbymidwest 2018 was a year full of ups and downs. One of the ups included connecting with more YouTubers and starting to build friendships with them. Another one of the ups was receiving SEVERAL amazing PR packages from  @pixibeauty  which I am late on covering because of some stuff that happened (more on that in a mo). One of the packages was a set that included their MatteLast Liquid Lips swatched in the first photo for you. Also included in the package were containers of color (swipe to 2nd photo) to make my own custom shade (swipe to 3rd photo) for

2 months ago by southeastbymidwest Y'all I don't know what has me more shook (is that still a word we're using?), the price tag on this  @Muradskincare  Night Fix Enzyme Treatment OR how well it works....dang it, should have saved that for the blog post / and or YouTube video that you can get to by clicking the link in my profile. Well now that it's out there let me tell you a bit more. If you've been around for awhile you know that I have DRY skin (hello Sahara) with eczema flareups. This Night Fix Enzyme Treatment left my skin so hydrated overnight that
