You may or may not know that I live in South Carolina. If you’ve ever been to South Carolina in the summer time you know that it can be hot and humid with very little relief. Even air conditioned buildings don’t offer a ton of relief as it gets so hot that the air conditioners have a hard time keeping up, and don’t get me started on the electric bills during summer! The incredible heat is one of the reasons that during the summer I lighten the amount of makeup that I wear, often choosing to go without any. However, I hate doing that because applying and “playing” with makeup is one of the things that I LOVE doing. Setting sprays like Urban Decay are great for setting the makeup and reapplications of the spray do refreshen the makeup but they don’t do anything for the suffocating feeling that I tend to get with the heat and the makeup.
When I saw that Farmacy now had a Skin Dew Hydrating Essence Mist and Setting Spray I was ingrigued. The Farmacy Hydrating Essence Mist claimed to protect and firm the skin, normalize skin pigmentation, tone the skin, freshen makeup, but most importantly refresh the radiance and moisture that the skin may have lost. My first thought was that all sounds well and good but would it actually work in South Carolina heat?
After using the Farmacy Hydrating Essence Mist one time I was sold. I picked my package up at the Post Office early in the morning and on the drive to school I decided to give it a try as it was already a bit warm. I didn’t even read the package before misting it all over my face! After I received an immediate cooling effect I decided to check out what the packaging said. Of coures it talks about how their “unique patent-protected variant of Echinacea Purpurea, GreenEnvy” has the highest concentration of Cichoric Aid which is what helps the protecing and the firming of the skin and the evening of the skin tone. It also mention that it was free of artificial coloring, parabens, formaldehyde; contained naturally derived ingredients; and was not tested on animals. What I was most interested in though was that replenishing of radiance and moisture. I knew I felt cool but it all had to be in my mind right?
Ha! It would make for a better blog post if it had been because I talk about how it didn’t perform well etc. In this case though I just can’t do that! I went into school that day as the first day after registration and my Cosmetology instructor got onto me about how my pants drag the ground and how it’s not professional. She commented on how the rest of my appearance was super professional that day my hair was done (it was freshly braided that morning), my outfit was cute (I knew that I wasn’t staying for the full class so I dressed out of uniform), and my makeup was excellent but those pants dragging ruined it all! Okay I’ll give her that but let’s back up to the makeup being excellent as that is the point of this. I wasn’t wearing ANY makeup. Seriously, I had sprayed my face in the car on the way to school with the Farmacy Hydrating Essence Mist but that was all I did. I had even skipped my entire skin care routine that morning, oops, and hadn’t even put on a lip balm! I looked in a mirror on the way out of the Cosmetology lab and sure enough my skin had a bit of a “glow” to it and it had evened the redness that I had from a couple of dry skin patches.
Due to how dry my skin is the Farmacy Hydrating Essence Mist didn’t last a super long time and I did have to refresh a few times throughout the day but each time my skin felt so hydrated that I wasn’t complaining to much, and if you don’t have super dry skin you probably won’t have to refresh as often as I did. I did also try the Farmacy Hydrating Essence Mist with makeup and it works just as well. It actually penetrates past the makeup to let the skin feel a bit more hydrated as well. Overall, I think this is an excellent product and it will be a permanet addition to my collection…and my kit.
I know a lot of people that would love a product like this! Living where it is humid and wearing ANYTHING on the face just melts right off! This is a great idea.
I need to give Farmacy a try. My skin needs serious help to stay hydrated and healthy. Thanks!
Wow! I want to try this because I want to experience that “immediate cooling effect” too. My skin gets dry a lot these days so I really want to have one.
This sounds great, and I have heard good things about FARMACY brand. We have humid weather here like South Carolina does so this would be great for refreshing my face and makeup in the summer.
I have used facial mists a couple times and actually forgot, that I have some under my bathroom sink! This facial mist spray seems to do it all! I would especially love the firming effect and hydration!
This looks like a great beauty product to have in your make up kit. I’ll have to look into it and share about it with my beauty person.
This is an interesting product. I’ve never heard of it before. I know that I’m getting older, so I should start taking better care of my skin. Before it’s too late.
This looks super fantastic, I will have to give it a try. I love the name, super catchy!
This sounds like a great new skin product. I have never used a facial mist but I may need to now!
I’ve never heard of this brand before but I’ll be checking it out. During the summer my skin is so dry it’s unbearable. This hydrating mist sounds like it is exactly what I need.
This Farmacy Hydrating Essence Mist sounds amazing indeed. I would love to try this product and love that it helps with firming as well as hydrating the skin. Thanks for sharing a great review.
This mist sounds GREAT! I love the packaging and the fact that it cools you down in the heat is the best!
I wonder how this would work on oily skin. I have such oily skin I’d be worried my makeup would slide off, lol. I’m glad it worked for you.
I like mist sprays, and have a rose spray for my face. This seems to have a ton of benefits for the skin.
I just read about this brand recently and I actually liked what I read. I’ll think about this mist although I’m not really a “misty” person. 🙂
A refreshing mist would be perfect for the sweltering heat and humidity. The summers in Texas can be brutal on my skin.
Since it’s summer, a hydrating mist would be perfect for me. I really need one right now. Thanks for sharing this product, I might try it sooner. (Commenting from http://www.PinayMommyOnline.com)
