I’ve seen the Scentbird subscription around for a bit and have been tempted to subscribe. I love wearing perfume but honestly I don’t feel that I wear it enough to spend $80 – $100 on bottles of perfume that I wouldn’t wear that often. So a subscription that allows me to pay $14.95 to try out a perfume and if I really like it I can either go purchase it at the store or I can readd it to my queue.
Let’s talk about the Scentbird subscription before we talk about the perfume itself. When you signup for Scentbird you have to setup a queue of perfumes, kind of like the disc-based Netflix subscription. You can find perfumes searching by the name of the fragrance or the designer if you know what you want or you can click on the notes at the top of the page if you know you’re looking for something specific in a fragrance. If starting out you have no clue what you’re wanting you can just get the Perfume of the Month. For May that will be Florence by Tocca.
For my first month I decided to go against perfumes that I would normally purchase, fruity fragrances are my go-to, and go with something that I have always wanted to try My Burberry by Burberry. According to Scentbird this fragrance is a sophisticated, everyday, floral fragrance that can be either a Fall or Spring fragrance. The main notes in My Burberry are Sweet Pea, Freesia, Rose, Quince, and Geranium. I ordered the My Burberry fragrance before realizing that one of the main notes in it was rose, not one of my favorite perfume scents, and Quince, what is that even?
My Scentbird subscription arrived in a bubble mailer and the perfume itself was in a velvet bag. Inside the bag was a metal tube which housed the My Burberry by Burberry, you’ll want to keep this as the next month you won’t receive one you’ll just take out your empty glass bottle and put a new one in. The My Burberry is rebottled into a glass bottle that has a label telling you what it is. When I saw this I was afraid that it would mean that I was duped and they really rebottled My Burtberry or something. Nope. As soon as I sprayed the perfume I could tell that it was the real deal and my earlier fears about the rose and quince? Not an issue. You can tell that the rose is there but it’s not off putting at all…but I still have no clue what a quince is. The My Burberry by Burberry scent is one that I have been wearing everyday and I still haven’t even hit half the bottle yet!
If you’re wanting to tryout more perfumes but you just don’t want to lay down huge amounts of money to do it, or if you’re more of a “try before you buy” person then you’ll want to give Scentbird a shot. I’ve already subscribed for my next bottle, on my own dime!

I’m actually such a cheater and before getting any other ones I’ve been going to like Sephora and sniffing all their testers and trying to find perfumes I would like to buy but can’t afford at the moment LOL.

I had not heard of Scentbird before. What a neat idea!. I like the velvet bag. It’s small enough to carry in your purse and seems affordable for perfume lovers.

I do love subscription boxes. It’s like having a birthday every month! I am a creature of habit with fragrance, and very picky to boot, so I usually stick with one daytime and one evening fragrance.

What a neat name for the product! Makes me think of a light fragrance… The packaging is lovely too. That black velvet pouch is just perfect for protecting it inside your purse.

I could be easily described as having a perfume addiction. With that said, I’ve never heard of the ScentBird before but I will be checking them out! Rose is also not one of my favorites..and right there with you on Quince. What in the world does that even smell like?!

I can’t remember the last time I wore perfume because I was entrenched in mom life having two little ones…but now that they are older I’m getting my groove back and finally starting to take care of my beauty routine again. It sounds like Scentbird is such a fun subscription box idea–my mom would love it. Thanks for putting this on my radar for Mother’s Day!

This is a great purchasing scheme for perfumes. I don’t usually use up the entire bottle because I tend to not like the same scent after a while. Subscription basis is a good way to also save more money in the long run.

I used to not wear any perfume at all, but as I grew up, I became addicted to it! I’ve had a Burberry scent before and I loved it. (I just forgot the name). I’ll definitely be checking out this new version then!

I wish I could wear scents like this, but my nose and skin is so sensitive to the chemicals in them. These would be great little gifts though for others that I know who do enjoy scents.

This sounds like such a great way to try and get to know different scents without the sometimes huge expense of a full sized bottle. I love the idea and it is the perfect Mother’s Day gift for a scent lover…
