2016 Favorites: February || Southeast by Midwest #beauty #bbloggers #favorites

It’s the middle of March…I can’t believe it’s already that far into 2016! To go along with that I can’t believe that it’s already time for another monthly favorite. I had intended on this going up at the beginning of March but Midterms snuck up on me but I still wanted to share my favorite items from February with you. Make sure to check out the video below for more information about the products.

2016 Favorites: February Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water || Southeast by Midwest #beauty #bbloggers #favorites #smashbox

My first monthly favorite for the month of February was the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water. I’ve been absolutely loving this Primer Water and I initially didn’t think I would. I just didn’t think that something that you mist on your face and that’s called a “water” would be that effective but it really is!

2016 Favorites: February L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss || Southeast by Midwest #beauty #bbloggers #favorites #loreal

My second monthly favorite for the month of February was the L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss in Fuchsia Amnesia. I’ll be honest and tell you that usually I’m not a huge fan of matte lip products. I feel that the ones that I’ve tried in the past just either sucked the moisture right out of my lips or my lips just absorbed the color of the lip product and it wore off super fast. The Pro-Matte Glosses don’t have that problem at all. Of course I love the bright pink Fuchsia Amnesia the most!

2016 Favorites: February Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Moist Deep Conditioner || Southeast by Midwest #beauty #bbloggers #favorites #aussie

My third monthly favorite for the month of February was the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Moist Deep Conditioner. Lately my scalp and hair have been a lot drier than they typically are. On a lark I decided to try out the 3 Minute Miracle Moist Deep Conditioner thinking it couldn’t make it any drier than it already was. I’m glad that I decided to try it out because my hair and scalp have more moisture in them than they have had in awhile. Don’t get me wrong this didn’t cure my dry scalp completely but it is helping me head in the right direction!

2016 Favorites: February Staedtler Pins || Southeast by Midwest #beauty #bbloggers #favorites #staedtler

My fourth monthly favorite for the month of February were the Staedtler Triplus Fineliners 20-piece pens with case. In the past I’ve mentioned that I have a planner and I may have mentioned that I have OCD. I have found that the 20 pack of Staedtler’s are the best for both of those. For planning the Staedtler’s help me give each section that I keep track of (school, blog, YouTube, life, bills, etc) it’s own color so things are easier to find when flipping through. For school the Staedtler’s help me keep a color range for each class and then I prioritize the information based on a color in that range. Life is now so much easier!

2016 Favorites: February Perm Rods || Southeast by Midwest #beauty #bbloggers #favorites #perm

My last monthly favorite for the month of February were the Curved Perm Rods in Tangerine (Jumbo). As I state in the video my hair does NOT hold curl. Don’t misunderstand, my hair will curl and it will stay wavyish for a little while but if I want curls in the evening I wouldn’t curl my hair in the morning if that makes sense. With the perm rods my hair not only held a curl for that day but for DAYS!

I started Southeast by Midwest back in 2012 as a lifestyle blog. After a few months I felt a pull towards beauty so I rebranded as a beauty specific blog. Over the years I've grown my knowledge and love of beauty products to the point that I am currently in Cosmetology school. 1. Those rods look interesting; I am so intimidated by anything having to do with my hair! But those don’t look too bad. I also am such a HUGE fan of the water mist, too. It keeps you moisturized and yep- makeup lasts, longer, too! 🙂

  2. I love these posts, but oh, how I envy those American prices. I had major sticker shock after I moved to Denmark where Aussie is a premium brand costing up to $15 per bottle! And forget paying $9.99 for L’Oreal anything, and I need a mortgage everytime I run out of my Smashbox foundation 🙁

    • My husband would like to visit Europe sometime and his selling point to me is that I could purchase makeup overseas and compare it to American makeup and prices but I’ve heard about how expensive products can be and I’m like “that’s not a selling point hun” lol.

  3. I love your favourites. Some of them sound awesome. Weirdly I like the sound of the Primer Water. I remember coming across something like this in my Christmas stocking as a teenager and I loved it. However, once it ran out I never found it again and whenever I asked I just got a baffled expression. I’ll be sticking up on this.

  4. I have a similar background! I never liked makeup growing up. But, now I enjoy trying new make-up lines and taking care of my skin. These products look amazing and I enjoyed watching your video clip too.

  6. The L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss in Fuchsia Amnesia is such a pretty color, I’d wear it year round. I have a problem with my hair holding a curl as well. It’s so straight and thin, I wonder if the Curved Perm Rods would work for me.

  10. Matte lip colors are naturally drying. I’m glad to hear that the L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss in Fuchsia Amnesia didn’t dry up moisture on your lips. I will also have to try it out myself to see if it’s the same for me.
