Can you believe that November was the last time that I did a favorites post/video. I decided to do my February Favorites and while this post is a bit late I did actually get the video up in February!

Hair
My first February Favorite is the Fekkai PrX Reparatives Trio. I purchased this awhile back from Ulta. I had been having some eczema flareups so I had put off using it, however, around Valentine’s Day I wanted my hair to smell really good so I decided to pull out this set and man it’s really helped my hair! I love not only how soft it makes it feel but how good it makes it smell as well.

The next February favorite is actually a duo, the first of which is my Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery, you can find my review of that here. I used this for a bit when I was sent it for awhile and then I set it aside to try another product and forgot it awhile, until the Hubs and I decided to change where my makeup room was located and I found this in a box. I started using it again during February and I’m currently loving it. Mally Roncal suggested in her book, Love, Lashes, and Lipstick (review here) that you should put on your sunscreen before your moisturizer so I decided to try that with the Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery and letting it set for about 10 minutes before moving to the next step and it’s started to make a huge difference in my skin’s appearance.

After waiting 10 minutes I go to the next step in my skin care, my Embryolisse Moisturizer. This hydrates my skin so much and as a person with eczema I can tell you how important that is. I let this soak in for a good 15 minutes before moving onto primer or foundation in my makeup routine. I will say that the Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery and the Embryolisse together leave my skin feeling so good that lately I’ll head out the door with just these two products and a lipstick on!

My third February favorite is my Jouer Matte Moisture Tint in Linen. I always thought that people with dry skin should stay away from matte foundations as they can make the skin look dull and the matte formulation can tend to cling on dry patches, so when I received a sample of the Jouer Matte Moisture Tint in my October Birchbox I was a bit confused. However, after I used it once I fell in love with it and then after using it with my sample of Nars Pro-Prime Light Optimizing Primer I immediately went and purchased it from the Birchbox store!

Eye Shadow
My fourth February favorite is an item that I just received at the beginning of February, the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette. I actually purchased this on a daily sale that Home Shopping Network was having were for the price of the palette you got the palette, a full-size mascara, a full-size lipstick, and I believe a deluxe sample size of their eye shadow primer. Who could say no to that? When I first got the package I was TICKED (let’s just say shipping was horrible and leave it at that) and I was tempted to send it back (my only option since it was a daily deal and they couldn’t replace it since it was sold out) but I really wanted the palette, so I kept it. Boy am I glad I did because I LOVE how soft the shadows are, how pigmented they are and wow do they smell good. I loved the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette so much that the Hubs took notice and when I briefly mentioned the newer Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette he immediately said I could get it!

Lipstick
My last February favorite is the Too Faced La Creme Lipstick in Nude Beach. This is the lipstick that came in the HSN set that I mention above. I’ll be honest and say that because I haven’t heard much about these, I’ve heard more about the Melted Liquid Lipstick, I wasn’t expecting to much. I was more than pleasantly surprised to find that not only were these super hydrating but they are also extremely long wearing. I’m currently liking these more than my Mac lipsticks! (shock face!)

Hmm, I never think to pause a certain amount of time between my moisturizer and makeup. Wonder if that will make a big difference?
I’ve noticed a difference on myself. For me if I put them on to quickly my makeup can be slippery or not last a LONG time. However, when I have the time to let each step absorb in before moving on I found that my makeup stays put WAY longer than otherwise. But that is for me, your skin might be different and you may not even notice a difference, but it couldn’t hurt to try 🙂
I would also love to have the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette. I have seen it used by several YouTubers in their makeup tutorials and also heard great reviews on the product.
