Purchase: Dermalogica
Price: $66
I received the Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery to review. All opinions, however, are my own and were not influenced by Dermalogica.
One of the first things I noticed about the Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery was the packaging. While it may just appear to be an ordinary silver package I found it really awesome that when you flipped it over to the back there was a security seal that you had to peal off. I, personally, like knowing that there is NO way that anyone could have tampered with my package from the time that it was put in that box until the time that I received it. I have never looked at their products in stores so I don’t know if the on-shelves versions of these have this feature but I was glad to note that my review copy did!
The Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery claims to help fight against the aspect of the sun that cause skin-aging. It does this by combining SPF with other ingredients that while fighting the sun’s UV’s also stimulate collagen to be produced. A bonus to this product is the amount of SPF that is contained in it, 50. Most facial products that include SPF I find tend to have small amounts and I never understood why as my face sits in the sun more than most other parts of me. Having a product that I can layer underneath my products, or that I can wear on it’s own, with a much larger amount of SPF makes me happy.
As you can see the Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery comes in a nice sturdy cylinder bottle, it also looks to be a good size. It actually is 1.7 ounces which I feel is a good size for the price. I also like the fact that this isn’t a typical sunscreen bottle that is super flimsy, I like that this has a little bit more weight and thickness to it.
Another feature that I’m loving about the Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery is the nozzle. I have found that the nozzle for the Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery is designed in such a way to keep the product from caking into the opening. That is one of my biggest complaints when it comes to items like sunscreens, the fact that the product will get caught in the opening and get crusty. With a nozzle like this one, I haven’t had that problem at all.
The Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery lotion itself looks and feels just like any other sunscreen. The lotion is a semi-thick white lotion that goes on clear when applied to the skin, similar to sunscreen. The scent of the lotion is also very similar to sunscreen, actually just like sunscreen, so if you’re use to wearing sunscreen you won’t find this off putting at all.
Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery goes on super smooth and leaves the skin feeling very soft. As you can see from the image above, once the lotion is applied the skin gets a drastically improved appearance. Overall, I thought this was a great product and I have been using it everyday that I have spend anytime outside since I received the product. I will for sure be purchasing more of this once I run out, even with the $65 price tag it’s worth it! You can order yours by clicking here.
March 2015 Update
A little update about the Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery. I have actually incorporated the Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery into my everyday skin care routine. It actually made it into my February 2015 Favorites.
Oh my gosh, I want some! Like seriously, I want to try some of this!
I use Dermalogica once in a while. It’s a no-nonsense, effective brand. Even the packaging is simple and clean.
What an interesting product. I am always looking for ways to keep my skin safe from the sun, since I play outside a ton with my boys during the warmer months.
Sign me up for anything that has SPF in it. I love Dermalogica! I’ve been using their pre-cleanse oil before washing my face lately and it’s perrrrrfect.
I have that but haven’t tried it yet!
I’ve heard a ton about dermalogica products before. But haven’t ever used them (surprising, considering I’m somewhat of a beauty blogger too)
My favorite primer is Dermalogica, so now it’s nice to hear about this. I’m all for adding another of their line to my life!
I think wearing sunscreen is so important! I use a moisturizer that has SPF in it and I use it everyday!
I love that it goes on super smooth. I’ve been looking for a product like this for awhile now. Will have to check it out.
The dynamic skin recovery cream seems so light. I would love to try that for my skin to restore the damage that Winter have caused.
This product looks really interesting. I am a stickler about security seals as well so that’s something that would have caught my attention right away too.
I have this and I really like it!
I have a sensitive skin and I’ve been seeing a Dermatologist because of my problem. I would say this would be good on me because its spf50. I would love to try this one.
Ohhhhhh I want to try this!
I definitely want to try this! Looks nice!
This looks like an awesome product!
It does look like it smoothed out your skin a bit. I hope it works well for you.
i used to use quite a few dermalogica products. i actually really liked their skincare line. 🙂 but i guess i just like to try different products, so i haven’t stuck with anything yet.
I’ve tried some of this, and I like it a lot! I’ll need to repurchase for sure!
All our travel is brutal on my skin! I have been looking for new skin care products these sound great!
It definitely looks like an awesome product. I will have to pick some up for myself.
Sounds like a great lotion! I love anything with SPF protection.
Love Dermalogica! I will give this a shot.
I need this stat!
I’m familiar with the brand, but I have to admit I have never tried Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery. It’s something I am curious now about.
I’m basically a product junkie – so I love finding new products to add to my wishlist! 🙂 How does this smell? I will have to look into this and perhaps give it a try!
It actually smells just like sunblock does so if you’re use to that scent you won’t find this to be to bad.
I’m not familiar with the brand, how does this smell? Is it affordable?
It smells just like sunscreen, so if you’re use to wearing sunscreen the scent won’t be a bother. As to the affordability it would depend on your definition. This retails for $65, however, you get the size you see above and a little goes a long way. This post was initially published last August and I’ve used it just about once a day ever since and I still have a good portion of my bottle left.
