At the beginning of summer I was sent three of the Maui Moisture Thicken and Restore Hair Products and back in July I filmed my review of the products after using them for a few weeks. However, my review kept getting pushed further and further back until now! I actually wanted to share my review of the Maui Moisture products because while I was sent them for PR I actually really do stand behind them, as does the Hubs as he’s used them a time or two himself. Check out the video below or keep scrolling for more details and my full review!

About Maui Moisture

Maui Moisture Thicken and Restore Hair Products About || Southeast by Midwest #beauty #bbloggers #mauimoisture

Maui Moisture hair care products are inspired by items that can be found on islands like Maui. Maui Moisture wanted to be different than other hair care companies who use chemically treated water as their water. Maui Moisture uses a unique blend of coconut water and aloe vera juice as their base! From there Maui Moisture currently has 6 different blends of hair products to try to include every hair type in their product lines. The current lines are; Curl Quench and Coconut Oil for Curly Hair, Nourish and Moisture with Coconut Milk for Dry Hair, Heal and Hydrate with Shea Butter for Dry, Damaged Hair, Thicken and Restore with Bamboo Fibers for Weak, Brittle Hair, Strength and Anti-Breakage with Rich Agave for Chemically Damaged Hair, and Smooth and Repair with Vanilla Bean for Frizzy, Unruly Hair. Maui Moisture products can be purchased at Ulta, Target, Walgreens, and Walmart.

Maui Moisture Thicken and Restore Shampoo

Maui Moisture Thicken and Restore Hair Products Shampoo || Southeast by Midwest #beauty #bbloggers #mauimoisture

The Maui Moisture Thicken and Restore Shampoo is infused with bamboo fibers to fortify the hair and blended with castor oil to strengthen and repair damaged hair. The ingredients work together to renew hair and leave it with a healthy glow. The Thicken and Restore Shampoo has a “woodsy” scent that doesn’t stay with the hair at all. The texture is thick but lathers really well. The Thicken and Restore Shampoo did a great job of cleansing the scalp, making my dandruff stay away almost all day, and leaving my hair feeling very soft and looking very healthy!

Maui Moisture Thicken and Restore Shampoo Ingredients

Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Water (Aqua), Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, PPG-2 Hydroxyethyl Coco/Isostearamide, Glycol Distearate, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Water, Bambusa Arundinacea Stem Extract, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Melia Azadirachta Seed Oil, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Polyquaternium-10, Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, PEG-120 Methyl Glucose Dioleate, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Methyl Gluceth-10, Tapioca Starch, Sodium Chloride, Propylene Glycol, Diazolidinyl Urea, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Fragrance (Parfum)

Maui Moisture Thicken and Restore Conditioner

Maui Moisture Thicken and Restore Hair Products Conditioner || Southeast by Midwest #beauty #bbloggers #mauimoisture

The Maui Moisture Thicken and Restore Conditioner is infused with the same bamboo fibers as the shampoo and blended with castor oil as well, so you’re going to get the same fortification, strengthening, and repairing as the shampoo. One thing I do want to mention about the Thicken and Restore Conditioner is NOT made with silicone which can be found in some conditioners and can cause buildup depending on the type of silicone. The Thicken and Restore Conditioner also has the same “woodsy” scent as the shampoo and it also doesn’t stick around like the shampoo. The texture for the conditioner is a little looser than the shampoo, which is usually reversed, and it coats the strands nicely. I left my conditioner on for 3 to 5 minutes while I continued with my shower and my hair felt so silky after rinsing!

Maui Moisture Thicken and Restore Conditioner Ingredients

Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Water (Aqua), Behentrimonium Chloride, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Alcohol, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Water, Bambusa Arundinacea Stem Extract, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Melia Azadirachta Seed Oil, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Panthenol, Polyquaternium-10, Polyquaternium-37, Caprylyl Glycerin/Sebacic Acid Copolymer, Diheptyl Succinate, Propylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, PPG-1 Trideceth-6, Glycerin, Tapioca Starch, Propylene Glycol, DMDM Hydantoin, Diazolidinyl Urea, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Fragrance (Parfum)

Maui Moisture Thicken and Restore Blow Out Mist

Maui Moisture Thicken and Restore Hair Products Blow Out Mist || Southeast by Midwest #beauty #bbloggers #mauimoisture

The Maui Moisture Thicken and Restore Blow Out Mist has the same bamboo fibers and castor oil so it will also help to fortify and repairing while protecting the hair before blow drying. The Thicken and Restore Blow Out Mist has a more “woodsy” scent than the shampoo and conditioner and it does linger for a bit, however, it’s not a bad scent and it isn’t to powerful. I sprayed the Blow Out Mist on my damp hair and then blowed it dry with a round brush and wound up with a NICE blowout with a LOT of volume!

Maui Moisture Thicken and Restore Blow Out Mist Ingredients

Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Water (Aqua), Polysorbate 20, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Water, Bambusa Arundinacea Stem Extract, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Melia Azadirachta (Neem) Seed Oil, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Polyquaternium 10, Tapioca Starch, Propylene Glycol, Diazolidinyl Urea, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Fragrance (Parfum)

Final Thoughts on Maui Moisture Thicken and Restore

Maui Moisture Thicken and Restore Hair Products Final Thoughts || Southeast by Midwest #beauty #bbloggers #mauimoisture

Not only did I love the Maui Moisture Thicken and Restore products but the Hubs loved them as well. He used them right after getting out of the hospital and has been trying to steal them back ever since! The shampoo and conditioner left his curly hair so soft and healthy looking that even I was jealous! I would say that if you’re going to skip on any of these products the Blow Out Mist would be the one to skip, however, it’s still a great product. I probably won’t repurchase it as I don’t like to blow dry my hair that often (looking for a brand to put out an amazing air dry hair product!) so it’s a bit of a waste for me but if you blow dry your hair a lot then you’ll love the Blow Out Mist!

I’ve actually never heard of this line, but it sounds amazing. I’m an Ulta junkie and I’ve never noticed it there, but then they do have a gazillion products in there. Based on your review, I’m inclined to try it myself!

I’ve read so many great things about bamboo when it comes to hair restoration. I’ll have to check into this because the older I get the worse my hair seems to be.

This sounds lovely. I have very thin hair so I am always looking for products to help thicken it.

THanks for the recommendation. I don’t think this looks that pricey and it would be really good with ebates.

I’ve been curious to know how this line performs. I have color treated hair, fine hair so it can be hard to find a shampoo and conditioner to address both of those issues. I want my hair to be full while also keeping my color looking good for as long as possible.
