Purchase: Foundation / Concealer
Price: $8.99 / $7.99
I’ve seen the advertisements for this line in all the magazines I’m subscribed to and I was very intrigued. I was interested to know if this was a set of products that was going to hold up or if it was just a gimmick product. When I saw them at the store I decided to snap them up.
Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation
To start off with let’s talk about color matching. There are 12 different shades to choose from in the Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation line and I found myself right between two of them 105 and 110. The 105 shade was a bit lighter, it’ll probably windup being my winter foundation, and I thought 110 was a smidge tanner. I decided to go with 110 and once I got it home and started blending it the foundation actually was pretty spot on.
As you can see the bottle is a thin plastic squeeze bottle with a thicker plastic cap. I really liked this design because I feel the foundation is easier to get out of the squeeze bottle than their glass bottles that you have to shake and foundation goes EVERYWHERE. I also really like that the cap is made of a thicker plastic because I’m not afraid that the cap is going to get broken in my makeup bag and have the makeup going all over my other products. I think the Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation packaging was genius.
Covergirl claims that the Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation is medium coverage, oil-free, has a built in powder and that it lasts all day. I can tell you that all of these claims are true. The Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation did a great job of covering all of my blemishes and redness without the need of concealer. The foundation was oil-free enough that it wasn’t greasy or cakey on my face, however, it wasn’t drying either and it certainly didn’t cling to any of my dry patches. Lastly, the foundation really did last all day even in the South Carolina humidity.
Ready Set Gorgeous Concealer
Once I had my shade figured out in the Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation it was a bit easier to narrow down the selection from the six concealer shades that CoverGirl offers. Since I was counting on the foundation to be medium coverage and to cover my blemishes and redness I knew that the concealer was going to be an under-the-eye/highlighting concealer. As that would mean going lighter instead of darker it left me with one choice: Fair 105/110.
I’m a bit on the fence when it comes to the packaging for the Ready Set Gorgeous Concealer. First off I should mention that you don’t just buy the concealer in the bottle like pictured, it does come with an outer packaging that you have to take it out of. That’s the part that I can get behind, I think more products should have testers out with shades for you to try but the product you buy should come with an outer package for sanitary reasons. That being said once my hands were on the plastic bottle it felt a bit flimsy feeling, almost like a fake Barbie makeup that I would give my niece. On top of that I’m not a big fan of concealers with wands as I find it a bit unsanitary to dip a product that you just smeared on your face back into clean product. This wand is a little worse than others as it doesn’t seem to pick up a lot of product that you can transfer to the back of your hand.
Complaints about the packaging aside this was a great product. It was super creamy, blended very easy, and did a great job of covering my under eye circles without being obvious. I do think that the shape of the bottle makes it easy to drop in your purse for quick touch-ups later in the day. I just wish it was a bit more sturdy then what it is. I also used this around a little bit of redness that I had peaking through on the side of my nose and it did a great job of covering that up as well. Like the foundation I didn’t have a problem with this clinging to any of my dry patches.
Overall both of these were great products that I’m super glad that I purchased. Not only will they be a product that I will use again they will probably windup as a permanent part of my makeup routine. They are super easy to use and really do live up to the instaGLAM motto that CoverGirl is using for them. If you haven’t already make sure you pick these up at your local drugstore or using the links above.

Now that I have gotten older, my complexion is harder to work with. I think being super creamy would be a plus for my old skin.
I keep a Cover Girl foundation (it’s a cream to powder foundation) in my bag. it’s a back-up, need in the middle of the day, foundation for me. I also have a concealer from them, but I’m not in love with it. I may have to try this one, just to see if it’s any better than what I have.
It looks flawless on you! <3
I still haven’t tried this yet. It’s sitting on my desk, waiting for me to use it! I didn’t know which color to get, but I picked up the same on that you did. I’m hoping I like it!! Great review, the product looks fantastic on you! Perfect color match!
That says a lot if you’re going to add them to your overall routine. I like that kind of foundation package too.
That’s one drawback about drugstore makeup. No testing… and if you hate it, you’re stuck with it.
You know, it’s hard to find a good concealer I’ll have to check this one out. Thanks for the review.
It looks great on you! Thank you for the review!
I actually picked this up in the store this morning wondering how it would compare to my current Cover Girl formula. I also had some BB cream and then didn’t get either.
You really should at least try the Ready Set Gorgeous foundation. Just wait until CVS or Walgreens has a B1G1 50% off sale and grab up both! 😉
Looks really good.I do not wear much foundation/concealer.
New product to me…I will check it out next visit to the store.
I need some new makeup. I’ll have to look for this next time I’m at the store.
It looks really good on you! I haven’t seen this in my stores yet but I’ll be sure to test it when I do.
I have the foundation and totally agree, it is pretty nice.
Sounds like a great product for the price but I agree on the packaging for the concealer. You can never get all the product out of those!
you just reminded me that i bought that concealer about a month ago and forgot to pull it out!
I very rarely use Foundation or Concealer. I guess I’ve never really been into makeup so much. If I have a wedding or another similar occasion to attend, I will get my makeup done professionally. However, for everyday use…lipgloss and maybe mascara will do it for me.
I love trying new makeup and may have to try this! I have a hard time finding something that works ok on my dry patches.
I have unfortunate sun spots that have come out this year on my face. I like the concealer wand and the squeeze bottle. It makes it easy to put my makeup on in a hurry or on the go. I’m one of those that puts my makeup on in the car while my husband drives us places.
Your skin looks flawless with that makeup!

Foundation is really the only makeup I wear daily. I don’t have much of a routine.
It’s not easy to find a good concealer – well at last for me. I will have to try this.
I haven’t tried this one yet. It really does look like it gave you great coverage though. I may need to check it out.
I like how those two products worked on your face. Looks like great products. When I do use a drugstore foundation I tend to lean more towards Covergirl than any other brand.
Oh I need to try this! I’m not a huge make up person but I need me some consealer!
I am obsessed with trying new makeup products, Its gotten to the point that I have to get my rx’s at the drive-thru so I don’t go broke, but I’ll have to check these out on my next trip.
Sounds like overall you liked the concealer. I will have to check it out.
I will have to keep this in mind. I’ve been needing a new concealer.
This sounds like a great product. I don’t wear make up but if I wanted to try any I would definitely give this a try.
I think this concealer is great. I will have to look for it and try.
Looks like awesome products. I’m glad you’ve tried them and shared, because I’ve seen them and been wondering how they worked.
Ever since I hit 30 I find that I wear concealer and foundation more. It’s so hard to find a good one!
I’ve never used this concealer before. I’ll have to check it out the next time I’m at the store. 🙂 Thanks for sharing.
I haven’t heard of this makeup before. But I am a Mary Kay consultant, so I don’t pay much attention to the makeup at the stores anymore.
I need some new foundation and I love covergirl! I will check this out!
I haven’t worn foundation in so long, I wouldn’t know what to do with it. LOL! I do love Cover Girl though. I find all kinds of fun colors for my lips. 🙂
totally need to try these out now, thanks for the great review!
I think I briefly heard of the ReadySetGorgeous collection. Its affordable and I am happy u liked the outcome of the products I am looking into this myself now!
I hadn’t seen this kind yet. The concealer looks top notch.
I need these in my life! I’m always struggling to find a good foundation/concealer combo!
I’m always super intimidated by foundation and concealer. I’m always afraid I will look cakey, streaked, or an unfortunate combo of the two. So I opt for compact powder. Hwever, your post has made me reconsider… I’d really like to try Ready, Set, Gorgeous!
