If you’ve been around for awhile then you know I’m notorious for providing late reviews on products. However, I think this one might take the cake. I received the Briogeo Sea Goddess Shimmer Mist in March of last year. I posted about them on Instagram and planned on coming back to post about them on my blog but an internship led to a job and well… Anywho, let’s keep scrolling to see what I thought of it.
About the Briogeo Shimmer Mist
The full-size Shimmer Mist has 4 oz. or 118 mL of product, comes in a plastic bottle, and has a spray mister. The Shimmer Mist retails for $24.00 and can be purchased at either Sephora or Briogeo.
Briogeo claims that the Shimmer Mist is a weightless shimmer product that can be used in either the hair or on the body. They claim that the Shimmer Mist is a shimmer and not a glitter product and that the shimmer comes from mica that is naturally derived making it ocean-safe and that they ethically source it. The ingredients for the Shimmer Mist are:
Briogeo Shimmer Mist Review
Before we talk about the actual product I want to talk about some reviews that I saw when I was looking up all the current pricing for the Shimmer Mist. I’m seeing a lot of users complaining about the mister in the Shimmer Mist clogging. I used this product every few days for a solid several weeks when I first received it, I used it for graduation last May, I used it a few times during my internship from May to August, and I’ve used it several times since August of last year. I’ve NEVER had a problem with the mister clogging. Now this could be because I received mine before the product was released and they may have changed the mister or formula since then (although it doesn’t look like it). If you find that this happens to yours you can open the product and try to reposition the tube connected to the mister, this is what I have to do with my detangler constantly and it doesn’t even have shimmer -.- Or if you’re worried about this you can purchase it from Sephora who has a great return policy, or at least they use to. I wanted you to be informed of any issues, even if they are not ones I’ve encountered.
Now let’s talk about my experience with the Shimmer Mist. As I mentioned, I’ve used this quite a lot and I love how it looks in my hair. This does not add any color to the hair, even though the liquid looks purple, so it’s subtle enough that you could wear this outside of evening events or parties. What it does provide is a shimmer on the hair that catches with the sun or any other light, so it’s not so subtle that it’s pointless. Because of the shimmer it provides I’m not sure that it could be worn to a strict office or school but if you have one that’s a bit more laid back with the dress code this would be fun to use. The Shimmer Mist also can be used on the body without irritation. While I was on my internship two of the other girls I was staying with wanted to go to the Pride Festival in San Francisco so I sprayed their hair and bodies with it and it was GORGEOUS. It lasted all night, and part of the next day, did not transfer and washed right out/off when they showered the next day upon getting home.
Final Thoughts on the Briogeo Hair Mist
If you’re thinking, “I could never wear this all over my hair I have [insert reason (i.e. kids, hair gets in mouth, etc.)].” I have found that the Shimmer Mist can be used subtly other ways as well. My favorite way to use it during my internship was to throw my hair up into a bun, spray the bun with the Shimmer Mist, and go. Several people commented that they loved the way my hair looked in the sun and the lights but couldn’t quite place why it looked so good. If you’re someone who wants to add a little (or a lot because you can build it up) extra to your hair/body then this is the product you need to get and I say that with the fact that Briogeo has NO idea or expectation of me writing this post. This product is SERIOUSLY that good.

I’ve always found that the Brigeo line had a very strong fragrance. I usually send whatever I get in subscriptions to a friend who loves the smell. I bet my blog partner would love this though with her gorgeous hair.
I actually purchased a shampoo and conditioner from them and I agree, super fragrant.
I love this brand, and their conditioners are amazing! This looks like a fun-to-use shimmer mist!
I love most of their stuff, however, I just tried a new to me shampoo and conditioner from them and actually didn’t like it that much.
It’s so pretty but kind of unnecessary. I don’t think I would use it often enough.
Agreed, about the unnecessary, but if you’re looking for something fun it’s a nice little addition.
Sounds alright, I have never tried a shimmery mist before!
I hadn’t either until I tired this and I was expecting it to be very glittery, however, it wasn’t at all!
