Purchase: Tati Beauty
Well here we are… I did a thing, I purchased the Tati Blendiful and the Tati Eyeshadow Palette but that’s a post for a different day (Thursday if we’re being specific…). I’ve seen people raving about it and wanted to know if it was as great as everyone says it is. To find out if it is, keep scrolling.
About the Blendiful
The Blendiful comes in a pack of two sponges (one large and one small), is a fabric sponge that does not need to be wet to use, and each has a satin ribbon on one side that can be flipped to the other side to use it there. The Blendiful retails for $18.00 and can be purchased from Tati Beauty.
Tati Beauty claims that the Blendiful can be used to apply both cream and powder products and that due to how the Blendiful is made that you will use less product. Tati Beauty also claims that the Blendiful can be cleaned and is therefore reusable, but should be replaced every few months, and ultimately that their sponge is a game changer.
Blendiful Review
For this review we’re going to talk about each sponge individually. The sponge above is the larger Blendiful and is softer than the smaller Blendiful. When it comes to the larger one this one is good for primer, foundation, concealer, and other face products. Tati did mention in a video that when it comes to primer that this works better with more pore filling primers (think the Tatcha Silk Canvas Primer or the Tarte Smoothing Primer). For the review I used the Blendiful with a mattifying primer over my pores, a light coverage foundation to see if coverage could be built up, a color corrector and a concealer, a cream contour, and powder blush, bronzer, and highlight. Ultimately, I found that the Blendiful did an amazing job of pressing the primer into the pores, the coverage with the Blendiful on the foundation was way better than a sponge and less streaky than with a brush, the point and ability to fold the Blendiful made applying concealer style products so easy, and applying the blush and highligther even while being a powder was great. The only issue I had was the fact that you’re supposed to be able to fold the Blendiful like a taco and use it to apply contour / bronzer almost perfectly, this was not the case for me. I don’t know if I just need more practice with the Blendiful on this step or if my chubby cheeks just always make this part more difficult than it needs to be…
The smaller Blendiful is designed to be able to be thrown into a bag and taken with you to either blot oil throughout the day or do touch-ups. Due to this, the smaller blendiful is darker in color, to hide the oil, and a bit stiffer. To test this, I used the smaller Blendiful to set my foundation and concealer and found that it worked beautifully! Due to the smaller shape I can get around the eyes and edges of my nose, however, it’s not so small that I feel like it would take forever and a day to set my entire face. Since I have dry skin I couldn’t test the blotting oil from the face, however, I did test it by blotting excess oil from my skin care off the back of my hand and it removed the excess beautifully. As for washing, these can supposedly be thrown in a lingerie bag and then thrown into a washing machine. You can do that if you wish but my washing machine LIVES to tear stuff up so yeah I didn’t test that. I did, however, test washing it in the sink with regular soap and it only took a couple of passes to get everything off. I should mention that I also waited two days to wash it instead of washing it immediately after to see how it would do with products that have settled in. My Blendifuls look almost brand new and I say almost because they’ve shedded all their little fuzzies at this point so they don’t look as shaggy as in the photos.
Final Thoughts on the Blendiful
Ultimately I think this is a good buy because it does apply liquid, cream, and powder products just as well if not better than a beauty sponge would and you get two for less than the price of a beautyblender. I found that these cleaned better than a beautyblender and I was better able to manipulate it. If you are someone that takes your makeup on the go with you, like to work or school, this is perfect to throw in your makeup bag in the morning, use it, and then either clean it and BLOT to dry (do NOT wring) for awhile before placing back in your bag or just throw back in your bag and wash and let dry overnight before repeating the next day. Now do I think it as game changing as Tati Beauty claims? No. It’s a glorified beauty puff. However, I think the fabric on the outside and the shape are what make it unique and in the end make it worth the money over a puff that you could get at say Walmart.

What an interesting makeup sponge! IT looks like a cross between a stuffed animal and a makeup sponge! 🙂
HaHaHa that is the best description, especially for the heart one.
I hadn’t heard of Blendiful. Excellent review. I think I would need to see these in person before buying. The fuzziness is a little unusual to me. Glad that you had good results. Love that they clean well.
It’s a soft fuzziness. I will tell you that when it comes to primer you don’t want to use it with just any primer. It really needs to be a thicker primer like a balm or a thicker formula, not just a liquid one. It doesn’t soak up foundation but it does on the primer which is weird.
When Paula Dorf was in business I bought a set of similar products from her and I’ve used them for the last 20 years. If these are similar then they blend powder blush or bronzers effortlessly so there’s no lines. I’m glad you found something you like.
Yes, this blends blush and bronzer amazing, both cream and powder.
That just looks so bizarre
It does, but I actually liked it. I need to play with it some more to master it though.
