Zainey Laney September Scents

I’ll wait… Before we get into all that, let me tell you that this post is MAINLY about Zainey Laney September Products, which I will get to in a second. This post is ALSO about where I’ve been for the past, ummm lemme go check, month and a half. All of that is going to be down below so keep scrolling for more!

Okay so back in May I participated in an internship that lasted until August. In July, while still on that internship, I interviewed for a job at that company. The same day I interviewed I found out I had the job! However, I had to finish up my internship which wasn’t done until the middle of August. I also had to pack up ALL of our belongings because the first week of September consisted of us driving from South Carolina all the way over to California.

That’s right! I now live in California, right outside of San Francisco to be exact. Side note: Any beauty brands in the area that want to throw a pity bone to a restarting blogger and invite them to product reveals, send them PR, etc. I’m ya girl *wink*. We’ve been here for a few weeks now and EVERYONE is loving it. The Hubs has found his “true” home as he calls it. The almost ten-year-old Great Dane is acting like a puppy again, climbing up into beds which she hasn’t done in YEARS. The cat now sits on the window ledge and people watches and then meows at the ones she doesn’t like, which lets face it for a cat is a lot of them… For the first time since EVER, I actually have beauty storage which means I’m actually happy in my beauty space and able to find blogging fun again.

Which brings me to the star of our post, the Zainey Laney September Products. The theme for the month of September was “Family I Chose” which means Laney and Marshall (her brother) focused on Michael Schur shows. I’m going to be 110% honest with you, I’m not a huge fan of Michael Schur shows (The Office, The Good Place, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and New Girl). I am, however, a HUGE fan of the Zainey Laney scents which is why I picked up two from this collection. The first one that I picked up was Ordinary Things which is based off of The Office. The scent profile is Cranberry, Oranges, and Apples. These scents work together perfectly and come off a little bit fall but not “all up in your face fall” which is perfect for this time of year. The Hubs is actually currently carrying this one on him as a “scent booster” to spray himself or the car.

The next spray that I picked up is actually the Surprise Scent for September, You Die, I Die. This one is based off of Stranger Things, which I do in fact love, and has a scent profile of Banana Split, Chocolate, and Cherries. If you get the scent profile you know who this is based off. I don’t know about you but I actually REALLY disliked the one in the first season but since about the end of season one when they basically became the defacto watcher, they’ve REALLY grown on me and this friendship is in fact one of my favorites. I was expecting A LOT from this scent. I took this to work with me to use as a room spray and people would sniff the air as they walked by and then backtrack trying to figure out where the banana split with extra cherries was coming from.

Okay back over to the Michael Schur shows. The last thing I picked up was the Velvet Thunder Body Scrub which is based off of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. The scent profile for this is Raspberries, Chocolate Cake, and Sponge Cake which is why I chose it for the sugar scrub. I really wanted to try this because sugar scrubs are a newish thing for Zainey Laney and I figured something that smelled like cake and was a scrub couldn’t go wrong. Oh boy was I wrong, not in a bad way, it smells so good I want to eat it! However, with ingredients like Coconut Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, Emulsifier, and Optiphen I probably don’t want to go snacking on it like I want to. Let’s talk about the ingredients for a second, the optiphen is basically a preservative that is paraben and formaldehyde free, so it’s okay for the outside of your body just not ingesting. As for how the scrub worked, that emulsifier works like a charm so it actually suds’s up a bit instead of being super abrasive (which I like) and makes it easier and cleaner to rinse off. After rinsing and drying I didn’t find that I had a greasy film on my skin and my skin felt super soft!

I felt like this was the PERFECT post to share with you why I like the Zainey Laney products. If you like certain fandoms like Michael Schur shows or Stranger Things then you can participate in purchasing PLUS you’re supporting a small business. However, if you’re not a fan of those fandoms you can STILL participate as the scents are incredible and really hold-up. Like I said, I’m not a fan of The Office or Brooklyn Nine-Nine but I highly recommend both scents and especially the sugar scrub (which is only available in certain scents).
