I received the REN Clean Screen Mineral SPF 30 Sunscreen to review and it came at the perfect time because South Carolina FINALLY decided to participate in actual sunshine. For the past few months it’s been raining, storming, and super cloudy. We would have been the perfect filming location for a Twilight relaunch. REN Clean Screen Mineral SPF 30 Sunscreen Review
If you’ve been around here for awhile you probably think you know how this review is going to go, especially once you read the word mattifying. You would actually be surprised. Yes the REN Clean Screen Mineral SPF 30 Sunscreen is in fact mattifying. REN uses rice starch to help absorb oil, control shine, and minimize the look of pores. That last one there is why I’m willing to use this even though it’s mattifying. I just combat that by using a hydrating primer afterwards. Since I normally use a pore minimizing primer and a hydrating primer together anyway this isn’t a problem for me and it actually combines the SPF step with the pore minimizing step so win-win.
What I actually love the most about the REN Mineral Sunscreen, besides the fact that they use recycled materials for the packaging (which by the way doesn’t compromise the feel of the packaging), is the Zinc Oxide that they use in it. REN formulated the REN Mineral Sunscreen to not only block UVA and UVB but also Blue Light Rays as well! I was afraid with the Zinc Oxide and everything else that as I wore the REN Mineral Sunscreen that it would break down on my face and start to burn my eyes, which a lot of other SPF products do. This was not the case at all! I had no problem throughout the day or at the end of the day with burning eyes or anything else.
Final Thoughts on REN Clean Screen Mineral SPF 30 Sunscreen
In my opinion, if you’re looking for a new sunscreen and you have either oily/combination skin or are willing to hydrate your skin a little more if you have dry skin, then you should for SURE give the REN Mineral Sunscreen a try. However, if you already have a sunscreen you love or aren’t willing to hydrate your skin a little extra then this would be a skip for you.

Although magnifying is not for me with my dry skin, I know that this mineral sunscreen would be a hit with so many, especially younger women. Sounds great
I was looking at this the other day at Sephora but skipped because I have a lot of sunscreens already
I’ve seen to have amassed a lot of sunscreens recently as well. Which is good because in South Carolina it can actually be difficult to find sunscreens once summer is over.
It’s interesting that you talk about the claims but don’t say much about if they are viable. I have normal to dry skin but I don’t know if this would work for me. Also, what kind of fragrance do you notice with this?
Definitely can’t have enough of good sunscreen protection.
No you can not!
I have loved everything that I’ve tried from this brand. I do have this sunscreen and it works well for me, especially on my no makeup days.
I agree, it’s perfect for no-makeup days.
I am a huge fan or REN products, and I have not tried this sunscreen. I will have to tryout when I need to replace my current sunscreen.
It’s a really good one to have on hand, especially if you have combination to oily skin.
