GlamTech Magnetic Palette Review || Southeast by Midwest #glamtech #beautytools #bbloggers

I mentioned to the Hubs a few months ago that I was going to need another magnetic palette because I was out of room in the ones I had but I still had a few pans and would probably get more. I knew that I didn’t want to get a Z-Palette due to the drama they had a year or so ago. However, a blogger friend of mine, Courtney, talked about the GlamTech Magnetic Palette that she had gotten and the Hubs remembered me gushing over it. What did he do? Of course he told me to grab one of them and one of the Beauty Blending Sponge Holders as well! Isn’t he the best?! Want to know what I thought of the GlamTech Magnetic Palette and the Beauty Blending Sponge Holder, check out the video below or just keep scrolling!

About GlamTech

GlamTech Magnetic Palette Review About GlamTech || Southeast by Midwest #glamtech #beautytools #bbloggers

GlamTech is an Etsy shop based out of Orlando, Florida that run by Casey. GlamTech was started in 2015 and in the three years that they’ve been around they’ve had over 3,000 sales! GlamTech not only offers rectangular magnetic palettes but shaped ones as well, along with wall art and of course the Beauty Blending Sponge Holder. To go with all of that they also offer different etched designs on the lids, custom art on the lids, and different colors as well.

What is a Magnetic Palette?

GlamTech Magnetic Palette Review Magnetic Palettes || Southeast by Midwest #glamtech #beautytools #bbloggers

Before we go any further about the GlamTech Magnetic Palette lets talk about what a magnetic palette is and why you might need one. Have you ever gotten an eye shadow single in a subscription box, looked at a shop / brand that sold eye shadow singles and thought “Man I’d love to get one of those but I have no place to store them”, or actually got some of them and have no idea of how to store them? If so then you might need a magnetic palette, but hold on, they don’t just hold eye shadows they can also hold blushes, highlighters, basically anything that comes in a magnetic pan. Now that is something you do have to watch out for, not all brands make their individual products in magnetic pans, Urban Decay is one that doesn’t, so for those brands you’d have to get magnetic stickers to attach to the bottom of the pans. You’ll also have to watch out for deception the other way as well, Tarte’s blushes look like they couldn’t be housed in a magnetic pan without depotting them which requires heating up the bottom to release the glue and then prying the pan out of the plastic housing, however, Tarte’s blushes actually have a little pin hole in the bottom that allow for the blush to be popped right out, sneaky right?! Anywho, a magnetic palette is what you would purchase to wrangle all of these singles that you may already have running around or that you may want to get. Different companies sell them and have different ways of offering them. For example, there is a Z-Palette (which I already mentioned that I will not support) and some brands / stores offer regular Z-Palettes and some offer branded Z-Palettes, other stores have their own magnetic palettes (like Makeup Geek), and then of course you have independent sellers like GlamTech who make their own.

About the GlamTech Magnetic Palette

Now that we know what a magnetic palette is lets talk about the GlamTech Magnetic Palette, and the 35 Eye Shadow Pan Palette that I got specifically. The 35 Eye Shadow Pan GlamTech Magnetic Palette can hold 35 square inches or 35 26mm pans. The base of the palette is made from black PVC but can be customized to be a different color. The magnet inside the palette is sheet magnet that is industrial strength. The lid is thick acrylic and not thin plastic like other palettes. The lid attaches to the palette with rare-earth magnets and is completely removable. You can get your lid as just plain acrylic or you can choose a design on the store or submit a customized design to be etched on the lid. You can also choose the color of the etching to be a solid color, a foiled color, or an upgraded color that involves more than one color. The palettes are 100% washable by hand and can actually be submerged fully in water to be cleaned. The 35 Eye Shadow Pan costs $24.00 and can be purchased at Etsy.

About the GlamtTech Beauty Blending Sponge Holder

GlamTech Magnetic Palette Review Sponge Holder || Southeast by Midwest #glamtech #beautytools #bbloggers

What about the Beauty Blending Sponge Holder? Well first off lets talk about beauty sponges. Beauty sponges are a way of applying makeup products without using a brush. These are usually latex free and have to be wet before application to make the sponge more pliable. A beauty sponge will give a more sheer application of makeup than a brush would. If you would like to see a video on beauty sponge application you can check out my Makeup for Beginners: beautyblender video here. Anywho, the Beauty Blending Sponge Holder is a solid acrylic holder with legs that measures 6.5″ x 2.5″ x 2.5″ and you can choose a design and color to have etched on the back. The circles on the inside to hold the beauty sponges is 1.5″ so it will hold sponges bigger than that, however, if your sponge is smaller you can message and have them cut the circles smaller! The Beauty Blending Sponge Holder costs $12.00 and can be purchased at Etsy.
