If you were around the blog last week then you know that I missed a whole week of posts. This past week has just been so hectic. Last Monday we had to run errands and send out invitations for graduation and last Tuesday I had what I thought was going to be a short meeting about the possibility of a grade being changed to the rightful grade…that turned into a whole day thing with me leaving in tears. After how emotional everything was I decided to take the rest of the week off, which wasn’t fair to you all and I apologize for that. To make it up to you as I’m writing this I’m working on two weeks of posts that will be published even while I’m walking at graduation. We’re going to kick it off with the March and April Boxycharm Unboxing. To see what I got in my March and April Boxycharm check out the video below or just keep scrolling!
About Boxycharm
Boxycharm is a beauty subscription service that costs $21.00 and ships monthly. Now I know you’re thinking $21.00 for a beauty subscription is A LOT, especially if you subscribe to Birchbox or Ipsy and are use to their service. Boxycharm is different from Birchbox and Ipsy in that instead of all samples or mostly samples and an occasional full-size item all of the items you get are full-size. Boxycharm sends you five to six items and all of them are full-size for the $21.00. The brands that you can expect to see in Boxycharm are MAC, Tarte, ColourPop, Pretty Vulgar, and more. If you are exclusively cruelty free or vegan than this a box that you are going to want to skip. However, if you’re still interested in Boxycharm let’s see the kind of products you can expect to get.
March Boxycharm Unboxing
What I like about the March Boxycharm box is that everything went pretty well together. A package of South Mane Beauty Eye Gels that contains 3 eye gels, a PUR x Boxycharm eye shadow palette to use after the eye gels, a set of The Vintage Cosmetic Company Eye Brushes that contained 3 brushes to use with the eye shadow palette, one of five different mascaras (I received the BellaPierre Volumizing Mascara) to use with the eye look, and then a Pretty Vulgar Make them Blush Blusher…and I of course received the bright pink shade. As I said, I like how well this box worked together, however, there are some items that I have listed up for trade because the shade or brand just aren’t for me. I listed up the South Mane Eye Gels, the BellaPierre Mascara, and the Pretty Vulgar Blush because I prefer the Skyn Iceland Eye Gels so I have a plethora of those, I’ve tried the BellaPierre Mascara previously and it just wasn’t for me, and the Pretty Vulgar Blush is just a bit to bright for me.
April Boxycharm Unboxing
Now the April Boxycharm didn’t go together quite as well as the March Boxycharm BUT what it had going for it was that everyone was going to be reciving one of five different ColourPop eye shadow palettes! My April Boxycharm consisted of the ColourPop Semi-Precious Eye Shadow Palette, a Tarte Tarteist Pro Glow Liquid Highlighter in the shade Exposed, an Adesse Hi Definition Liquid Lipstick I believe in the shade Haute Cocoa…I couldn’t find a name anywhere on the unit carton or the product itself so I’m not 100% sure, a The BrowGal Instatint Tinted Eyebrow Gel in the shade Brown Hair 02, and the Dr. Brandt Pores No More Vaccum Cleaner. I can’t wait to try out the ColourPop palette that I received and I’m beyond thankful that with my bad luck that I didn’t receive the Element of Surprise Palette as I just recently reviewed that, read that here. I’m still on the fence about the other products as they’re not products that I’m probably going to reach for all the time but bloggers can’t be choosers when it comes to products to review for the blog and YouTube. Maybe when I get on a few more PR lists, fingers crossed, but as of right now I have to take what I can get so I’ll probably keep the brow gel and the highlighter and trade the liquid lipstick and the cleanser.
Final Thoughts on the March and April Boxycharm Unboxing
As you can see the products are all full-sized and range in the brands and types of products you received. As you can also see, you’re probably not going to love every product in every box but in all honesty I don’t think I’ve come across a subscription box where I was in love with every product in a month. In love with one or two and okay with the others yes, but not full on in love with every product. If you’ve ever had that happen for a subscription please let me know in the comments below so I know what subscription boxes I need to be checking out!

These look good, and the ColourPop Palette is especially lovely!
I haven’t had a chance to swatch it yet because I want to take photos for a review first but I can’t wait!
I was really happy with both boxes, I have never loved a sub box so much. But March was my first box with them so I’ll give it time!
The only issues I had with them was when I subscribed previously the shipped a Becca Highlighter without wrapping it in additional packaging and a lot of people wound up with crushed highlighters all over their boxes. At the time they weren’t keeping up with the Charm shop as well so their replacement was Charm points that you could purchase a pencil sharpener with -.- March is my first box back and it SEEMS like they’ve fixed both issues.
Yup, I’m sold! This looks like one of the better sub boxes. Will be subscribing soon.
It’s amazing so far! It’s a great way to try out some products from brands that you may have missed their releases because of other products releasing around the same time.
I’ve been happier with Boxycharm than any subscription box ever. The price is great (I pay for 6 months at a time) and if the products aren’t perfect for me I know they’ll get love in a giveaway. I received CP You Had Me at Hello which I’d previously bought so now it’s part of a palette giveaway on my blog. I think you get more than your money’s worth with this subscription.
Congratulations on your upcoming graduation. That’s exciting.
Thank you! I agree with you 100%, I currently have the items listed on a swap site but if they don’t trade then I’ll have a giveaway with the items that I don’t like from a couple months box at a time.
I may sign up for Boxycharm. I had an Ipsy sub and canceled and a Glossybox and canceled that too.
I cancelled Ipsy and Birchbox to switch to Boxycharm and I don’t regret it at ALL.
I love that they include full-size palettes! That ColourPop one is a fave of mine!
Their last several boxes have had palettes in them. There was a Tarte palette in a box a few months ago.
Wow this is sooo much better than any of the Sephora Play boxes I’ve ever received…. Yes it’s double the price but it seems well worth it!
I am so wowed by both boxes – that they both contain full-sized eyeshadow palettes is nothing short of a wonder. The most other boxes send out are shadow duos. I love the shades in the Colourpop palette.
I love these boxes because when I open them, I feel like it’s my birthday but I also never fall in love with all the products.
