Awhile back it was announced that MAC Cosmetics would be partnering with Taraji P. Henson for a Viva Glam lipstick and lipglass collaboration. For those who don’t know who Taraji P. Henson is, she’s an actress that has stared in Person of Interest, check out the Hubs Binge-Worthy post here, and Empire. As a huge fan of the first I had to pick up at least one part of this collab when it came out…luckily I was able to get both pieces. Check out the video below to see if you should be as excited as I am for the MAC x Taraji P. Henson collaboration.

Before we get into either of the MAX x Taraji P. Henson products let’s talk about the collaboration a little bit. The first thing to note that this actually the second MAC x Taraji P. Henson collaboration, the first was a three-piece collection that consisted of one regular lipstick and two mineralized skin finishes. This collection is a two-piece collection that is part of MAC’s Viva Glam line, I’ve talked about it a bit here. The first piece of this collection is the lipstick which is a fuchsia shade with a matte formula. This formula lasted for several hours and after fading left a pretty stain. To go along with that it wasn’t drying on the lips either. For more details and a swatch, check out the above video.

The next item in the collection is the lipglass. Lipglasses are designed to be glossy on the lips and mask imperfections. The Taraji P. Henson lipglass is a similar shade to the lipstick, fuchsia, just shimmery instead of matte. This also wore for several hours but I prefer to wear it less glossy so I did kiss the back of my hand to remove some of the glossiness, making it more like a stain as well. My only issue with the lipglass is that this particular one actually has less product in it than other Viva Glam lipglasses and also other more recent lipglasses…yet there was not a lowering of the price!
