Crystal Collier on southeastbymidwest.com #bookreview

Crystal Collier is a young adult author who pens dark fantasy, historical, and romance hybrids. She can be found practicing her brother-induced ninja skills while teaching children or madly typing about fantastic and impossible creatures. She has lived from coast to coast and now calls Florida home with her creative husband, four littles, and “friend” (a.k.a. the zombie locked in her closet). Secretly, she dreams of world domination and a bottomless supply of cheese.

Crystal can be found on Twitter, Facebook, on her blog, and on her website.

Book Synopsis

Soulless by Crystal Collier on southeastbymidwest.com #bookreview #book #bookclub #literary #ya

Alexia manipulated time to save the man of her dreams, and lost her best friend to red-eyed wraiths. Still grieving, she struggles to reconcile her loss with what was gained: her impending marriage. But when her wedding is destroyed by the Soulless—who then steal the only protection her people have—she’s forced to unleash her true power.

And risk losing everything.

My Review

Soulless is the second part in the Maiden In Time Trilogy. I reviewed the first in the trilogy, Moonless, back in June and I couldn’t put it down. Soulless was pretty much the same way. Not only does the story flow extremely well, but the characters are very well written AND there’s romance without it being embarrassing.

Soulless picks up where Moonless left off, after an attack of the Soulless on Alexia and her family. Alexia has lost her Aunt Sarah, however, she has gained the approval of her father where Kiran is concerned. Soulless does a good job of showing you what all Alexia is feeling throughout the book. Crystal Collier does a great job of really making you care for the characters, and what happens with them.

Overall I actually enjoyed Soulless more than I enjoyed Moonless and I can’t wait for the third book in the trilogy. If you want to read Moonless before Soulless you can do that by clicking here. (HINT: Currently it’s $3.99 on Amazon, however, on Halloween and November 7th it’s be FREE). If you’ve already read Moonless, or just want to go ahead and purchase Soulless to have it on hand, you can get it by clicking here.

4.5 out of 5
