Purchase: Sephora
Price: $22
When I first started wearing makeup I didn’t even think about doing anything with my brows. As I became more experienced I learned about filling them in with eye pencils, then with shadow, and finally using brow gels to tame them. At first I was incredibly naive and thought that just any old clear mascara would do the trick, however, I quickly learned the difference between a clear mascara and a brow gel. BUT does that mean that you need to go out and purchase an expensive product meant just for your brows, like the $22 Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Gel? Lets find out.
Application
To start off with the brush area of the wand on the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Gel is shorter and the bristles are a bit more corse than your average mascara bristles. This makes it easier to comb the gel THROUGH the hairs of your brows instead of just shellacking the gel on top. The brush also doesn’t have any bristles on top, instead they just wrap around the wand. I find that this helps keep me from trying to use the end to just slick down my brows. I actually have to use the wand to brush the hairs the direction they need to go, which winds up looking more natural.
Score: 10 out of 10
Color
The Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Gel comes in both a tinted version and a clear version. I choose to purchase the clear version to test out to see if I liked it before trying one of the tinted. I have noticed that, for me, when I use clear brow gels that don’t last through the day that midway through they start crusting in my brows and I have to windup cleaning up my brows throughout the day. I don’t know if this is just me or if it happens with others as well. I mention it because the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Gel goes on clear and stays that way throughout the day.
Score: 10 out of 10
Feel
The Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Gel goes on like your typical brow gel, however, it doesn’t get thick or goopey. Another thing to mention is that after the gel dries on your brows it doesn’t leave them feeling dry or crispy, they still feel like normal natural brows just more in place.
Score: 10 out of 10
Lasting Power
The Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Gel has some excellent staying power. I live in South Carolina and it gets hot and humid here during the summer. This brow gel with stood the heat and sweat of me running errands all day in both South Carolina and Georgia and my brows were never once out of place. It even lasted through scattered thunderstorms and a 10-hour day.

All-in-all trying out the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Gel to review has truly made me a believer in not only brow specific products but quality brow specific products. I will not only be keeping the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Gel in my makeup routine but I will also be trying out more of their products in the future.
Robin (Masshole Mommy) says
Sometimes I have a stray hair, so this would be perfect for that I think.
Kate K says
I’ll have to check this out! I have been using a brow pencil but it tends to fade so quickly, especially in this NC heat!
Cassie says
They have a tinted version that you can use to replace the pencil OR this works great to just set over that pencil and to keep it from fading so fast. And I know all about that NC heat. We use to live in Warrenton (around Louisburg) and the heat and humidity is a makeup wearers worst enemy lol.
Kate K says
Thanks! I’ll definitely check it out!!
We just moved to the Charlotte area two months ago. I was told it’s been much hotter the past two months than it normally is for the area (of course!!) I’m a redhead and not a fan of heat and humidity, so I’m sure I will have a lovely summer! lol
Jaime says
I love your reviews! You mentioned brow gel recently (and I said I hadn’t tried it.) I definitely need to try some this summer!
Caroline @ the caro diaries says
I never really used brow gel until recently, and I love it! I’ll have to try this one!
Michelle says
Interesting product. I am a nut about keeping my eyebrows groomed so I’ve never really had a use for a brow gel, but good to know that there’s a great product out there.
Cassie says
It’s also good for setting any brow powders or pencil you use to keep them from running away 🙂
Betsy Mitchell says
Great review. Just checked out your youtube channel too!
Cassie says
Thanks for checking out my YouTube channel 🙂 I haven’t had many videos up lately because of I’ve been sick but I’m hoping to get back to my regular schedule so be on the lookout for that next week 🙂
Chelsea says
I’ve heard so many good things about the Anastasia brow products. They are pricey, which has made me hold off. I’d love to try the Brow Wiz one of these days though!
Cassie says
The brow wiz is the next thing on my list from them to get.
Carly from The Puzzled Palate says
Brow gel? I never even knew that was a product! Now that I know- I need to get some!
Cassie says
Brow gel and lipstick are two things I never A. leave off of a makeup look or B. leave the house without. Taming those brows can really pull a look together 🙂
Debbie Denny says
Sounds great. Like that it has staying power.
TerriAnn @ Cookies & Clogs says
Nice to know about the staying power. I generally use a powder and fear that I wipe it off whenever I sweat 😛
Cassie says
Using a brow gel over the top of the powder will really help that set and stay, for future reference 🙂
Jamie @ Makeuplifelove says
I do love love love AHBS brow gel. It totally helps keep the brows locked in place. Great post!
Krystyn @ Really, Are You Serious? says
I’ve never tried anything for my eyebrows! This looks like it could give them a boost!
Elizabeth says
I didn’t even know there was such a thing as brow gel. 🙂 A product that feels natural might be worth it.
Janell Poulette says
I have never tried brow get. Thanks for the tip – I will have to look into it!
Jamie (Mama.Mommy.Mom.) says
Having super dark, super thick brows (that I tame with monthly waxing) I’ve never even considered brow gel. I don’t know that it would benefit me any???
Cassie says
A brow gel can help them all go straight if you find that you have some throughout the day that go wonky from you touching your face. It’s also good to have on hand in case you have to miss your wax appointment. Using a brow gel to tame them down will buy you a few extra days if you just can’t get there in time 🙂
Kiwi says
I am newbie Beauty blogger and I need to work on my eyebrows more because that’s my least favorite thing (because I dont know what I am doing) but some brow gel would be beneficial for my beauty stash!
Cassie says
I don’t even go near my brows with Tweezers or anything. It’s not because I don’t know what I’m doing but I mean c’mon that looks painful as all get out lol. Instead I just make sure to use my brow gel to tame and I use my brow powder to fill in when needed.
Renee says
I have seen the eyebrow powders, but not the gel, which looks much easier to apply. I have also heard great things about this brand. Do you know if it is sold at Sephora?
Cassie says
Yes it is sold at Sephora and they’ll even show you how to apply it!
Melissa says
Wow, awesome scores from you! This sounds like a must!
Cassie says
I feel that everyone, even people who groom their brows, should have a brow gel of some kind (even a generic). You never know when they’re going to go unruly and that’s just not good 😉
Brandy says
Oh this is really neat stuff, I haven’t ever heard of it until this blog post. I appreciate you sharing, I will look into this and see if it will be something I can afford to add to my makeup collection 😉
Justina says
I love Anastasia brow stuff! I have the Dip Brow pomade and love it!
carly says
I’ve been looking for a new brow product, need to try this one!
Beth@FrugalFroggie says
I have such sad eye brows. They are sparse and blonde so you really can’t see them. I can use a pencil to shade them in a little but it doesn’t help much. 🙁
Cassie says
I know a few others with that problem. Usually what works best, especially if you don’t want to dye them, is layering. Start with a powder that is close in shade to your brow, then use a pencil to put in a few flicks that look like hairs, then top with a TINTED gel instead of a clear one. The slow buildup of color will be gradual enough that it will look natural once done. You should go into a Sephora and have them show you how to fill in your brows to see what shades you should use. You don’t have to buy what they suggest but it will give you a starting point 🙂
Jenn @ The Rebel Chick says
Sounds like a very interesting product. I’ve never heard of brow gel before.
kay adeola says
Looks great.I have never used this product or one like it.
Cintia (Vanilla Dreams) says
I have an all time favourite which is MUA’s brow pencil, I only use that 🙂
Ellen Christian says
I really like this brow gel. I use it all the time & it does a great job.
Lindsey @ Redhead Baby Mama says
I am totally a brow gel fan. I get my brows waxed or threaded for a clean look that isn’t bare and keeping them in place is important. I waited too long to get waxed last time and looked like a total yeti!
Cassie says
Exactly! That’s why I always tell people to keep brow gel in their makeup stash even if they groom. You don’t want to spend all that money getting them to a certain shape for a few brows to go crazy in the weather and have you looking like Oscar the Grouch or something lol
Virginia @thatbaldchick says
I never realized they made brow specific products. I’m glad you liked it and will be trying more of the Anastasia Beverly Hills products.
kristyn says

Ok, I’ve thought about trying this, since I have very fine brows. I’ll need to find this gel!
AStrid says
Anastasia always has your brow’s back. Need to try this product.
Chelsee says
Oh gosh I do love this stuff…it is amazing!
Liz Mays says
You made a great point about the crusting that happens with some. So glad to hear it doesn’t happen with this one.
Cassie says
I hate when they crust, it’s annoying and disgusting!
Christina S says
To me, this just seems crazy. Brow gel? Maybe it’s just me. My brows and big, dark, and furry. I don’t think I get it. Does it thin them out?
Cassie says
It helps them lay down. So instead of the hairs going every which way it makes them lay down and go in one direction so they look smooth and tamed.
krystalskitsch says
I’ve never tried brow gel before.. It would nice to have just in case!
Emily says
I saw this the other at Sephora and was contemplating it. I do have a brow pencil and brush that I use.
Cassie says
This will work really well with your pencil and brush, just use this to set over the color and you shouldn’t notice any fading throughout the day.
melinda says
i need a brow gel sometimes. i’ve tweezed too much over the years so letting them grow back now requires maintenance

I am going to show this to my daughter. She spends a lot of times getting her brows perfect everyday and I wonder if she has heard of this.
