I’ve been hearing great things about Michael Todd products. The main thing that I have heard over and over again is that once you try a Michael Todd product, you won’t want to go back to using anything else. I decided to purchase the Michael Todd Honey and Oat Cleanser, something that is similar to what I have used from other companies, to test and review. Note that while I am using affiliate links in this post I did purchase this product myself. As always my reviews are 100% honest and are of my own opinion, neither Michael Todd nor the affiliate company swayed my opinion in anyway.

Application

The Michael Todd Honey and Oat and Cleanser is a foaming gel cleanser, that is important to note right from the start. What this means is that it goes on as a thick gel and you then add a bit of water and work that into the gel and it starts to loosen and foam. At first this product is super thick and hard to spread, however, once you add the water and it starts to foam you can cleanse just about anywhere on your face. One thing to note is that this cleanser is gentle enough to use on and near the eyes.

Score: 10 out of 10

Color / Scent

When you first open the bottle you will notice a citrus scent, orange to be exact, while not overpowering it is noticeable. As you are applying the cleanser you will start to notice more of a honey scent, although it won’t be as strong as the citrus. Personally, I do not find either of these scents to be that strong, they are like I said just noticeable.

Feel

Upon first applying the cleanser to the skin it is super thick, however, as you add water it becomes looser and easier to spread. Due to the type of product that this is that is to be expected and is not harder to spread than one would normally expect from a similar product. After rinsing and drying my skin felt very soft and hydrated.

Cleansing Ability

This cleanser does a great job of removing ALL of the makeup, even including waterproof eye makeup. In the pictures above I applied a foundation and several different types of eyeshadow to the back of my hand and let them settle. I then applied the cleanser and just a little bit of water, I just wet the fingertips from my other hand and used that to loosen up the gel. After working the little amount of water and the cleanser together for a few seconds I wiped away with a paper towel. That’s right I didn’t even rinse the cleanser off with running water! Below are the results.

Oh my goodness I HATE when that happens. I got some of the Philosophy Purity in my eyes one time and my eye still hurt after an hour. As for this one, I don’t if it’s tear free BUT it is gentle enough to use around the eyes and I do and have even used it with eyes open and it didn’t burn. I would assume that means that it’s tear free but I don’t want to tell you yes and it’s actually not and my eyes are just super strong now because of the Purity incident lol.
