About Tarte BDay Bae Blush
The full-size BDay Bae Blush has 5.6 grams or 0.2 oz of product, has a magnetic pan, comes in a special edition packaging, and retails for $29.00. BDay Bae Blush can be purchased at Macy’s, Ulta, and of course Tarte Cosmetics.
Tarte claims that the BDay Bae Blush has a 12-hour wear formula that is made with amazonian clay which helps to control oils while providing moisture to balance the skin. Tarte also claims that their blush is super soft which helps prevent harsh lines and buildup. The ingredients for the BDay Bae Blush are:
Mica, polymethyl methacrylate, zinc stearate, synthetic fluorphlogopite, ethylhexyl palmitate, pentaerythrityl tetraisostearate, caprylyl glycol, ethylhexylglycerin, tocopheryl acetate, triethoxycaprylylsilane, sodium dehydroacetate, dimethicone, kaolin, tocopherol, titanium dioxide (CI 77891), iron oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), red 7 lake (CI 15850)
Tarte BDay Bae Blush Review
I’ve known that the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes were magnetized and could be switched out. However, I honestly had no desire to until now because the blush compacts usually match the blushes they house, I haven’t had the storage space for several big magnetic palettes, and the blush pans don’t have their names on them. Now though I could totally see popping other Tarte Blushes out and putting them in this one when traveling to have a super cute compact with me.
*sigh* Now onto the formula…which isn’t the best. This swatch is FOUR layers deep and it’s still hard to see. The color is a dusty rosy pink that is gorgeous, however, even on my fair skin it’s hard to see unless you build it up. I gave up after the four layers here on my hand and I honestly couldn’t get it to a point I was happy with on my face. As for the longevity, I know that Tarte blushes do last awhile but I couldn’t really tell you with this one because it was just so hard to be able to see it.
Final Thoughts on the Tarte BDay Bae Blush
Honestly I feel like the BDay Bae Blush is one that you need to swatch in person before purchasing. I don’t know if all of the BDay Bae Blushes are as lightly pigmented as mine is or if this is just how this one was made. I do know that the Tarte blushes that I own I barely have to swipe my finger over it to get enough to swatch, same with a brush. If you go to the store and swatch it and it swatches fine then I say pick this one up because the shade is amazing as in the color. Or if you are purchasing online then I would suggest purchasing from a retailer that you know allows returns.
