Coding Projects in Python Review
Something that you may not know is that I am still in school. I did graduate from the Cosmetology program at my school in May, however, I decided to go back to get a more specific Associate Degree. I did this for two reasons, the first being to have a fallback degree in case anything happens with Cosmetology and secondly because after talking to people in business I learned that I stand a better chance in getting small business loans for opening my own salon or business by having a degree partnered with my Cosmetology that isn’t a general or generic degree. I currently have an Associate’s in General Education so I would need something more specific. Why am I telling you this? Because the degree that I decided to go back and get is an Associate’s in Computer Programming. I chose this because I felt that it would make a terrific fallback degree in the Aiken / Columbia, SC area AND it’s something that I can actually partner with my Cosmetology by creating apps, programs, and other things specific to the cosmetology field. That is actually why I chose to review this book!
I’m actually super glad that I got to review this book. Yes it is geared towards kids, however, if you’re an adult with a child who likes computers and computer games, flipping through this would actually teach you a few things that you could show your kid that they would find interesting and then YOU could teach them instead of the book. This way you would understand what they were talking about when they get excited about other projects. On the other hand, if you’re just not interested in computer programming, and hey it’s not for everyone so no shame in that game, this book is laid out in a way that once you download and install Python for them (download Python here) they’ll be able to create several different projects on their with the book without any help. Although, do expect to be shown different programs, quizzed by a program, and play with different programs as they go through the book. That being said, I can not recommend this book enough! Computers aren’t going anywhere and programming jobs are in high demand so what better way to prepare your child for the future then to get them started with computer programing with a book that is designed to teach them programs that are of interest to their age level.
