You may not know this but I am a huge fan of Pirates of the Caribbean. So when LORAC announced that they would be putting out a Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Men Tell No Tales collection I was excited…and then I saw one of the features of the palettes and I KNEW I had to have it! Keep reading for my first impressions of the LORAC x Pirates of the Caribbean Collection and to see swatches of the eyeshadow and cheek palettes! Also, make sure to check out the video below for my super excited first impressions and to see the swatches in action.
LORAC x Pirates of the Caribbean Packaging
I love that for the outer packaging of the LORAC x Pirates of the Caribbean they decided to keep it simple. Just plain black unit carton with the gold Pirates of the Caribbean symbol on it. My only issue with the outer packaging is that the information pieces on the back of the unit cartons are only stickers. When even independent makeup companies can print information on unit cartons there should be no reason why a major company like LORAC can’t. Especially when the rest of the collection seems so great!
See what I mean? The inner packaging of the LORAC x Pirates of the Caribbean is AMAZING! There is so much detail on the entire inner packaging starting with what you can see right on top with the Latin quote on the cheek palette, which means “but they direct all the stars at the same time” according to Google. From there, the different sides of the eyeshadow palette have a small quote and the blush palette has a quote on the inside mirror, “Chart a course for the stars”.
LORAC x Pirates of the Caribbean Eye Shadow Palette
Size: 18 shadows
Now let’s open these babies up, shall we? Starting with the LORAC x Pirates of the Caribbean Eye Shadow Palette. As you can see, the inner packaging of the eye shadow palette has a kind of galaxy print to it, there’s a rather large mirror with no quote, the shadows themselves, and then a spot for the included eyeliner. The eye shadow palette comes with a basic plastic sleeve to cover the shadows, remember that for later, that is removable.
The eye shadows themselves are a great round-up of Pirate of the Caribbean themed colors along with names, like Matte-y in the bottom left there. When I opened the palette and saw all the colors and the names I was even more excited then just looking at the outer packaging. Some times when it comes to themed palettes you wind-up with shades or names that don’t fit randomly thrown in that break-up a rather great palette. That is NOT the case with the LORAC x Pirates of the Caribbean Eye Shadow Palette!

LORAC x Pirates of the Caribbean Cheek Palette
Size: 6 face products
Moving over to the inside of the LORAC x Pirates of the Caribbean Cheek Palette, you can see the quote that I was talking about on the mirror. The cheek palette comes with 6 shades that are blushes, highlights, and a contour shade. What I really love about the cheek palette is the attention to detail. If you look closely at the picture above you can see that the pans of product have a slight tint to them, there is nothing wrong with the product or my camera, that is the plastic overlay that is put over the product. For the LORAC x Pirates of the Caribbean Cheek Palette the plastic overlay has the phases of the moon! I kid you not! If you can’t see it real well check out the video above as there is a spot where I actually put the insert against the back of the palette so that you can see it better.

LORAC x Pirates of the Caribbean Final Thoughts / First Impressions
My first impressions of the LORAC x Pirates of the Caribbean Collection is that it’s pretty great. The packaging, the shades, and the names are all spot on for Pirates of the Caribbean and the quality of the product from swatching seems to be what you’d expect from a great company like LORAC. Now I didn’t forget about that feature that had me wanting this hardcore, but you probably thought I did. Look closely at the photo right above this…yes that is the cheek palette in a secret compartment inside the eye shadow palette! If that doesn’t cement that this is the PEREFECT Pirates of the Caribbean palette, I don’t know what does!
