March Battle of the Bags: Ipsy vs. Sephora

March Battle of the Bags: Ipsy vs Sephora Hero || Southeast by Midwest #beauty #bbloggers #ipsy #sephoraplay

Well I did it again…I resubscribed to both Ipsy and Sephora Play recently. I decided to do both as they have both been looking good recently and I really wanted to give both another shot. I also decided to do both as I thought a “Battle of the Bags” aspect would be a fun way to do a reveal. I will admit that a March Battle of the Bags part of the way through April is a bit late BUT better late than never right?! As always, for a full look at everything make sure to check out the video below.

March Battle of the Bags: Ipsy

March Battle of the Bags: Ipsy vs Sephora Ipsy || Southeast by Midwest #beauty #bbloggers #ipsy #sephoraplay

In the main photo at the top, the Ipsy bag is the pink bag. I absolutely LOVE the bag for the month of March without even knowing what the contents are! However, here is what WAS inside the March Ipsy Bag:

  • Neogen Coconut Milk Cleanser
  • Skone Luxe Pro Blending Brush
  • PUR Cosmetics Disappearing 4-in-1 Concealer
  • theBalm Bahama Mama Bronzer
  • So Susan Blush & Glow

March Battle of the Bags: Sephora Play

March Battle of the Bags: Ipsy vs Sephora Sephora Play || Southeast by Midwest #beauty #bbloggers #ipsy #sephoraplay

As always the Sephora Play came in a little cloth baggie. I was actually a little disappointed by this as February’s bag came in a satin pouch from what I saw, so I thought they had stepped up their bag game…looks like I was wrong. Here is what was inside the March Sephora Bag:

  • Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Eye Shadow Stick
  • Josie Maran Surreal Skin Argan Finishing Balm
  • Glamglow Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer
  • Living Proof Full Dry Volume Blast
  • Benefit Cosmetics Watt’s Up Highlighter
  • Chloe Fleur de Parfum

March Battle of the Bags: Final Thoughts

So who won the March Battle of the Bags? For March I would have to say it’s a toss up. While Sephora had more products that I liked and the sizes were better, I’m looking at you theBalm Bahama Mama Bronzer, the Ipsy bag was far better. I have stayed subscribed for the month of April and have actually already received the April Ipsy bag! So make sure to come back in a week or so for the April Battle of the Bags, oh and there will be two new “bags” for the month of April!

I really feel like instead of decided between the two, I should just get both! They are both excellent companies with great products.

I think both of those bags had their great benefits. I would love to sample both types and I also would have a tough time choosing.

I think I would have liked the Sephora bag most this month. The ipsy bag was much cuter but the products in the Sephora bag are more my style.

I don’t know! I think they both look great. I think I’d like that Sephora Play more. I think they both look great though and I guess it would just depend on personal preference. I love the comparison though.

I don’t have any subscription for beauty boxes, not because I don’t like it but because I do not use make up that often. I would show this to my daughter who would surely flip over both Sephora and Ipsy boxes. If she’s going to pay for it, fine. If not, then she should just choose one. 🙂

I have not heard of these bags. I got to check both out. I love Sephora and I shop their online store all the time for makeup and skincare.

I used to get IPSY but stopped my subscription. I felt like a lot of the items weren’t things I would necessarily use or buy if I saw them in the store or online. I love my Sephora subscription though!

I use to be the same way about Ipsy. However, they seem to be getting better about that now…now watch and the next few months will be more of the old stuff that I’ll never use or buy lol

Both bags look awesome. I’ve always been big on Sephora so I’m biased.

I don’t think that’s a bias, if you know the brand and like them then that’s a point in their favor.

They have some decent products in it, plus if you go into the store and buy anything during the remainder of the month you get 50 extra beauty points.

They do have a waitlist so it may be a bit before you get it, but they’ve been opening it about once a month you might get lucky and it be sooner rather than later.

I can’t stand how tiny the bronzer samples are. Just impossible to work with, right? I just use them as shadows or repurpose into other diys. I got a similar Ipsy to yours.

Yeah when they’re that small there’s no using it as a bronzer, only an eyeshadow. Your DIY’s amaze me, I can’t wait for your next one!
