If you’ve been around the blog then you might know that I started Cosmetology school in August 2015. You may have also noticed that periodically the time between posts can be extended a few days. That is because of just how much there is to do in Cosmetology school! If you are thinking about attending, know ahead of time that it means long hours and a lot of work, but it is worth it in the end. To show you what I mean, I’ll tell you about a typical day in my life.
Cosmetology classes start at 8:00 am and we don’t get to go to lunch until around 11:30 am so the smart decision is to eat some breakfast before I go in. Due to the fact that I have a gluten allergy, I can’t just stop for a biscuit. This means waking up early to shower and eat. Getting up at 5:30 am to eat and shower still doesn’t give me time to use makeup or style my hair so I’m already stressed before heading out the door. Usually in the car on the way to school, the Hubs and I will share a few puffs on the blu PLUS+ eCig that we have.
I usually get up to the Cosmetology classroom around 8:00 am (give or take five minutes) and do some chill work while I wait for other students to potentially wonder in. During this time, I usually work on one of the MANY workbook assignments or chapter questions that were assigned. At 9:00 am, whichever professor I have for the day will start their lecture. If I am in Chemical Relaxing, Hair Coloring, or Nail Care then at 10:00 am we will do a morning lab relating to that day’s class (i.e. a simulated color retouch or a manicure). However, if I am in Facials and Make-up, then at 10:00 am we head down to the computer lab to work on one of the eleven reports that we were assigned or one of the five chapters of online assignments that is due by semester’s end. We are usually released for lunch around noon with the expectation to be back at 1:00 pm. I will then text the Hubs to pick me up and we head to lunch, again usually sharing the blu PLUS+ eCig so that we can both destress a little (He’s in classes for Criminal Justice).
On Mondays and Wednesdays, we try to stay close to the school as the Hubs class doesn’t release until 12:15 pm so it lessens both of our lunch time, making it where we don’t have enough time to get back home. On those days, I try to stay as gluten free as possible so I usually get a parfait or two, without the granola, and head back. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, we have more time to head home so I usually have a gluten free meal of some kind before heading back. The afternoon usually means more intense labs so I use this time to also grab my full kit before heading back to class.
Classes get out between 4:00 pm and 5:30 pm depending on the day so you can bet that we’re getting in a lot of good practice. On Tuesdays between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm, we do a facial and a makeup look of some kind. On Mondays and Thursdays, we do a hairstyling practical until we master it. For example, we might do a flat iron style until we get one that is on point! Or we might do a blow dry style, or a roller set, etc. On Wednesdays, the 5:30 pm class, we have open lab. This means that anyone from the community or school can come in and have their hair done for a price. On this day, anything goes! You can be doing a shampoo and style while the person next to you is doing a color application and the person next to them is doing a chemical relaxer! While it is a bit stressful, because ultimately what they walk out the door with is your work, it’s still a lot of fun! At the end of the day, no matter what day it is, we clean up and head out. Usually the Hubs is waiting on my as his classes all finish before mine, and we head home talking about our day.
As you can see, it’s a lot of fun, but it can be a bit stressful at times. Plus, being in class from 8:00 am until after 4:00pm, I don’t get a lot of time with the Hubs, especially since when I get home it becomes all about getting blog posts together! We have found that one of the things that lessens not only the stress but kind of gives us something to do together is to share the blu PLUS+ eCig that we have. Last August, I shared with you how the price of cigarettes had gotten to the point where the Hubs wasn’t going to be able to continue smoking them. Well, in addition to that, our school became “Smoke Free” this semester. The good thing though is that e-cigs are not considered banned under the current “Smoke Free” rules of our campus!
In last August’s post, I not only told you facts about blu PLUS+ eCigs, like that the tank is longer lasting, but I also showed you how to properly assemble and use the blu PLUS+ eCig. Well in that time, blu has made a few changes to their blu PLUS+ eCigs. For example, now blu PLUS+ tanks come in different nicotine strengths! That means the Hubs and I, who are more casual smokers, can use the lesser strength while my mother-in-law, who smokes more, can use a higher strength. Also, the tip has been improved to give a draw that actually feels more like a cigarette! What I like most though is that the blu PLUS+ Rapid Recharge Pack makes a cool case and 30-minute charger for the e-cigs! That is what I want to show you how to use. If you purchase the blu PLUS+™ Rechargeable Kit, you will get the rechargeable pack, a blu PLUS+ wall charger, a blu PLUS+ USB cord, two rechargeable batteries, and three tanks.
1. Before doing anything with the blu PLUS+ eCigs, we are going to want to make sure that the rechargeable pack is all charged up. Connect the USB cord to the rechargeable pack and to the wall charger, then connect the wall charger to an outlet and allow to charge. You can charge one of the rechargeable batteries at the same time as the rechargeable pack is charging. Just place it in the next to last slot on the right. When the pack is charging there will be a blue light on the side that lights up and when the rechargeable battery is charging a red light on the side will light up.
2. Once the rechargeable pack and first battery is charged, we can add the tanks and the second rechargeable battery to the rechargeable pack and this is where it can get a little tricky. Let’s start with the previously charged battery. Attach it to one of the tanks following the tutorial here and place it in the very last slot on the right. This is a long slot that is meant for storing the blu PLUS+ eCig that you are currently smoking.
3. Next, place the uncharged battery in the charge slot right next to that. This is a shorter slot that is meant to charge an e-cig battery only, no tank attached. You are going to want to place the battery in the kit with the tip facing upward. If you are wanting to charge a battery that is attached to a tank, just remove the tank and place it in one of the three open slots to the left of the charge slot, or place it on the other charged battery, and then place that battery in the charge slot.
4. The three slots to the left of the charge slots are tank storage areas. If you purchase the rechargeable kit, you will get three tanks and after you build your e-cig you can place your additional two there. However, if you’re a person that likes different flavors, this will make this section even better. If you purchase additional tanks in other flavors, you can place those to the left of the charger and be able to switch from that Classic Tobacco to the Magnificent Menthol to Pina Colada to even the Limited Release Carolina Bold.
As you can see, the blu PLUS+ Rechargeable Kit is a great purchase, or addition if you already have a blu PLUS+ eCig like we do! To order a Rechargeable Kit of your own just go here, click the blue “Add to Cart” button, if you want to add more click “Continue Shopping” but if all you’re wanting is the Rechargeable Kit then click the red “Checkout” button on the right, if you’re a rewards member login and if not then just fill out your information and click “Place Order Now” and it’s that easy!
