I have finally decided to do my Best of [Insert Year Here]. I’ve seen this done on YouTube in the past by some of the guru’s I’m subscribed to, however, I just never really tried enough products to feel comfortable doing that. This year was a completely different story. Through different circumstances I’ve been able to try so many different beauty products that I felt pretty comfortable coming up with this list. A few things to note before we start. First off this is split into two part with part one focusing on face and lip products. Also, while I tried to pick a drugstore and high end for each category I didn’t force a product into a category if it just didn’t fit. Lastly, not all of these are “New in 2015” products, these are just products that I was loving this year. With that said let’s get started in my Best of 2015.
Favorite Moisturizer
My favorite moisturizer for 2015 was hands down Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré. While there are a few others that I liked this Embryolisse moisturizer was always the one that I came back to.
Favorite Primer
One of my favorite primers for 2015 was the Nars Pro-Prime Light Optimizing Primer. I found that this was great to wear under my foundation when I wanted a more luminous look. My other favorite primer for 2015 was the Hourglass No. 28 Primer. This was perfect when I wanted my face to be super hydrated, which was all the time, and I didn’t want my whole face to be luminous.
Favorite Foundation
One of my favorite foundations for 2015 was the CoverGirl Outlast 3-in-1 Foundation. I tried a lot of foundations last year and the CoverGirl Outlast 3-in-1 was my favorite over drugstore and high end ones! When I’m wanting a lighter feeling foundation my favorite for 2015 would have to be the Dior Forever Foundation. While this is a bit expensive the feel of it and the exact perfect color match for my skin makes it well worth the money!
Favorite Concealer
One of my favorite concealers for 2015 was the CoverGirl & Olay Stay Ageless Concealer. The only reason that this wasn’t my only favorite concealer was the fact that this formula was discontinued for a liquid version which I don’t like as much. Therefore, I had to find a new one and while this version of the Sephora Bright Future Gel Serum Concealer is not the right color match I still love the coverage! I can’t wait to go and get the right color for myself.
Favorite Blush
One of my favorite blushes for 2015 was the Milani Baked Blush. I loved how pigmented this blush was and how buildable (or how sheer) you could make it. My go-to day-to-day favorite blush for 2015 was Benefit Hervana. While Hervana was my favorite, all of the Benefit Boxed Blushes are great. Hervana is one that I think is complimentary to so many skin tones and like the Milani Baked Blush is buildable as much as you want it to be.
Favorite Contour
One of my favorite contour products for 2015 was the Tarte the Sculptor Crayon. This crayon has seriously changed my contour game and I don’t know if I’ll go back to a powder version after this! Before finding the Tarte the Sculptor Crayon my favorite contour product was NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Powder in Sunny. This powder is not only super cost effective but it wears great as well.
Favorite Setting Powder
One of my favorite setting powders for 2015 was the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder. This setting powder melts like butter into my skin and looks so natural!
Favorite Setting Spray
One of my favorite setting sprays for 2015 was the L’Oreal Infallible Setting Spray. For a drugstore setting spray the L’Oreal Setting Spray does quite excellently. That being said my go-to setting spray for 2015 was the Urban Decay All Nighter. This setting spray keeps my makeup looking flawless for such a long time that I almost never need to touch it up!
Favorite Lip Primer
My only favorite lip primer for 2015 was the MAC Cosmetics Prep + Prime for lips. No other lip primer that I tried could live up to this one plus for $17 and how much product you get you just can’t beat it!
Favorite Lipstick
My favorite day-to-day lipstick for 2015 was MAC’s Creamsheen Lipstick in Sunny Seoul. This is a “your lips but better” pink shade that looks FABULOUS on my lips, if I do say so myself! My favorite “special occasion” lipstick for 2015 was YSL Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick in shade #1. The YSL Rouge Pur Couture Lipsticks are so creamy, look so good on the lips, and are so long lasting. I will be purchasing these more often.
So that is part one of my Best of 2015. Make sure to come back on Wednesday to catch part two!
