One of my favorite things about April was that it was my birthday month. Now don’t get me wrong I wasn’t to excited to be turning another year older, instead I was more excited about the birthday freebies that you can get. To be honest though, I only participated in one birthday freebie this year, Sephora’s birthday gift. Due to the fact that I decided to get it online instead of actually going into the store I had to purchase at least one item so I thought it would be perfect to bring you a mini Sephora Birthday Haul.

Samples Received
Let’s start with the samples as they’re part of the reason why I decided to go with online instead of in store. Even though I don’t shop at Sephora on a daily basis, as a beauty blogger I do check their site on a daily basis. I look at any new releases that have come out, weekly specials and what the options for samples are. I happened to check on the day that I ordered and a sample of Dior J’adore perfume was available. I have been wanting to try that forever but haven’t had the opportunity before now so I jumped at it. I also picked up a sample of Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume and a sample card of Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo foundation as I’ve heard mixed reviews on it.
Products
Now for the good part, the actual products. As I mentioned above the main reason for the entire order was for the Sephora Birthday gift which this year was the Nars Lip Pencil Duo Set. This set contains a Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella and a Nars Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien. For swatches on these two and my thoughts on them make sure to watch the above video.
The other item pictured is the product that I purchased in order to get the birthday item shipped and it’s a small Too Faced palette. This is the Spun Sugar palette and it was released, I believe, last Christmas so this is an older palette and one that is now no longer carried by Sephora. This shows how the bottom slides out to reveal a highlighter, bronzer, and lipgloss, however, there is more to this palette which I show you in the above video.

You got so many great things.
And happy Birthday! I refer to the month of July as my birthday month and my husband always rolls his eyes when I say it.
Penny Struebig says
Wow, Cassie — you got some great stuff there!! Happy birthday month to you. Sephora definitely treated you right.
Carmen Perez (listen2mama) says
Isn’t it always fun to receive goodies in the mail? I would love to receive this too. I especially like the palette.

What an awesome haul! I barely wear makeup but I LOVE seeing how others use it. My weakness is fingernail polish. I have over 200 bottles and now trying out indie lines so it’s about to get even worse…LOL!
Cassie says
I love nail polishes as well. I haven’t tried any indie lines out yet so you’ll have to let me know which ones you windup liking so I know where to start 😉

I love all these products! What a great goodie bag full of items! I can get lost in Sephora when I go in there that my hubby sends out a search party. Plus I like that you can try everything before you buy!
Aisha Kristine Chong says

Myrabev says
Got some really nice products, I too do not really shop from Sephora but they do stock some awesome products and I am still waiting to try out the marc jacobs perfume. Happy belated birthday
Rebecca Swenor says
These are awesome products indeed. I love the Two Faced Glamour To Go Spun Sugar palette. The perfume sounds amazing too. Thanks for sharing.
Michele says
I do prefer trying samples instead of buying full size products as I often have allergic reactions! I have to remember to go to Sephora when my birthday rolls around.
Joanne T Ferguson says
Thank you for allowing me to learn something new as I have never seen any of those products before! They all look like a bit of fun and what great gifts for any occasion, especially a birthday!
Travis says
I’m glad that you enjoyed your birthday hun. I’m glad you actually did love that Too Faced palette after you got it 🙂

Well, being as I blew my speakers I cannot listen to your video sorry… but I see you have some gorgous make-up displayed. I use to be a make-up freak when I was working in a law office and had to wear it every day and freshen up in the afternoon. I use to like to wear a shadow to whatever color I was wearing with lipstick close in the family. I wish I could try those boxes you get every month. Are they really expensive? I’m on a tight budget being on disability. Whatever i get for myself is what I win or what I review. 🙁 Oh well, Ill be back to see what you get new next month! woo hoo FOLLOWING YOU 🙂
Cassie says
One of the boxes I subscribe to, Birchbox, is only $10 a month and you get 4-5 samples a month. If you review those products on their site before the month is out you get 10 points per item and once you get 100 points you get $10 to spend in their shop (that stacks by the way) so you can get full-size products for just about free. I’m planning a “How does Birchbox work” post and you might want to check it out to see if you could fit that into your budget 🙂
