Having been born in Indiana, most of my family still lives there while I live in South Carolina. With cellphones and Facebook this normally isn’t a problem, however, when life gets busy it can be hard to find time to make that call or check in on Facebook. When I realize that I have let life get ahead of family I like to make-up for that by putting together a “Thinking of You Gift Basket” full of things that I know the person needs/loves. I wanted to share a recent one I put together with you.
When they announced that Star Trek was releasing a set of Pop Vinyl’s with Funko I knew I had to get this particular one for a gift basket that I was planning. The person that this is going to loves them some Data so combining that love with something that the Hubs and I collect was a no brainer.
A movie to watch is always something I like to include in a Thinking of You Gift Basket. This is like an incentive for them to just sit down and relax. I always make sure to get one that is either new or that I think the receiver will enjoy. I know that the person getting this basket LOVES Disney movies and will love this one. *Note: This basket IS for an adult and not a child.*
Now here’s where I stray from what the giver may “want”. I always like to include something that I enjoy when I’m watching a movie. I do stick within dietary/allergy restrictions and as much as I can with tastes. For example, this Thinking of You Gift Basket I decided to include a pack of coffee. There were no dietary or allergy restrictions, however, there were taste restrictions as the person tends to favor one brand of coffee so I went with the Maxwell House.
Lastly, I like to include something that I think they may need. The receiver of this basket has mentioned that they’ve been having issues with bladder leakage but that they don’t want to “wear diapers”. I wanted to include a trial pair of Depend Silhouette Active’s for them to try out because after searching the isle these seemed the most like “panties” as opposed to “diapers”. I think these will give her the security against the bladder leakage without feeling bulky or loosing any dignity.
So there you have my Thinking of You Gift Basket, what do you like to include in your gift baskets.
That’s cutest gift basket ever! I love the Data doll, and who DOESN’T love The Little Mermaid.
What a sweet idea. I love that you put in a little something for every part of the day. The Little Mermaid is always a great pick me up.
I love Disney movies and I’m an adult! They’re classics.
Nice site redesign! I love that your basket has a little fun, and a little snack to go with it.
I’m glad there are other adults besides me who loves kids movies–especially Disney!! I would probably include a music CD that I knew the person would like., Coffee or Tea depending on their preference or maybe one of each and Those panties from Depend are actually a great idea!
What a great selection of goodies! Who wouldn’t love a basket like that?!
That’s a great basket! It sounds like you put a lot of thought into the things they like. Those are the best!
I love this! It would be so much fun to get one.
This is an amazing idea! I left all my friends and loved ones back home when we moved 2.5 hours away to anew city almost 5 years ago. I could make some of these up and send them, I think they’d be greatly received! This is a great idea!
Usually the only gift baskets I give are for baby showers so they include a bunch of useful gifts for the new baby. Although mother’s day is coming up, so that’s another occasion for a gift basket.
I like to make gift baskets very personal. I add in favorites like candy or chocolates, tea bags and flavored coffees and notepads and pens. I go with favorite colors and themes for each person.
I love the idea of giving a thoughtful gift basket like this one. I mean who doesn’t love to receive a special token like this one.
This is a great gift basket idea. It’s nice how you tied in their favorite items
It’s always nice to know that someone is thinking of you. What fun ideas!
You’ve got some great suggestions here. I always like a movie and coffee too, as I think do so many people. This would be fun to make for anyone of any age too (though the coffee wouldn’t go in for the younger crowd 😉 ).
Neat idea. Love the Data Figure and coffee is always a hit.
What a sweet little gift basket. I’d be thrilled to get a gift basket like this. I think the Depend sample it great, too. It really shows you were listening.
That is a very thoughtful basket. I love to buy lots of small things for gifts.
I love the idea of being able to send a gift basket. I haven’t ever shipped one though, and worry about the additional costs. Maybe I need to be mindful of that when picking out gifts. I’m sure treats and movies wouldn’t be too difficult.
What a sweet way to let someone know you care. Even with Facebook and other social media, it’s important to stay connected in other ways. I should send a gift basket to my sister.
That’s quite the variety in the basket! I haven’t seen Little Mermaid in years!
I love making gift baskets for my friends. The fun part is picking out the items to put in it.
These are some great gift basket suggestions. I would have never thought to include some of these items.
This is a super idea to let someone know you’ve been thinking of them! Everything they love and/or need! Super easy, not hard on the wallet and I bet it puts a smile on their face!
What a thoughtful basket.I liked how you gave a variety of items that were useful, fun and sentimental.
I love to include lotion, bottled water, gift cards, hot chocolate or coffee, chocolate of course and a journal. Love your ideas, makes for a great basket
Awesome gift basket ideas!! i love giving gifts.
That’s a really sweet idea. Good stuff too. I don’t know that I’ve see the little Mermaid!
I don’t think I’ve put together a basket like that before. Could be a great idea for my parents.
