One thing that is super important when dealing with makeup is taking it off. Not taking your makeup off at the end of each day can do serious damage to your skin. However, just a swipe of a cloth won’t pull everything off of your face as it’s more than likely been sitting in your poors for hours. Here are the five steps that I do to take off all of my makeup at the end of the day.

Maybelline Clean Express Eye Makeup Remover || $4.99 – The first thing that I do is apply some Eye Makeup Remover to a cotton pad and swipe this all over my eyes. There are two things that I look for in an eye makeup remover, first it MUST be oil-free. Having an oil-free eye makeup remover is so important because otherwise you’re face will feel like an oil slick. Secondly, it must be able to remove waterproof mascara. I HATE trying to get waterproof mascara off and having to pull and tug over the delicate skin around my eyes. Maybelline’s Clean Express Eye Makeup Remover is both oil-free and able to pull waterproof makeup off gently.

Neutrogena Makeup Remover Wipes || $6.99 – $8.99 – The next thing that I do is to pull off as much of my face makeup as possible. To do this I use a makeup remover wipe. I try to keep it to just one makeup remover wipe because I know that I have more steps coming up. I use these wipes all over my face to essentially pull off all that setting powder and foundation.

ulep Bare Faced Cleaning Oil || $28.00 – Inevitably there will be makeup left behind on both my eyes, eyebrows, and face so my next step is to bring in a cleansing oil. I currently am using the Julep Bare Faced Cleaning Oil because I love the citrus smell that it has, the fact that it puts nutrients back in my skin, and it is gentle enough to use over my eyes as well.

Philosophy Purity Made Simple Facial Cleanser || $10.00 – $42.00 – For deep pore cleaning I use Philosophy Purity Made Simple Facial Cleanser. This cleanser is great if you are using just your hands or if you are using a facial tool like a Clarisonic. This really cleans deep pulling a lot of that dirt out of my pores.

Embryolisse Lait-Crème ConcentrĂ© || $16.00 – $28.00 – To finish up I put moisture back in my skin with a moisturizer. My current favorite is Embryolisse Moisturizer because it puts tons of moisture back in my skin without feeling heavy or oily.

  3. You know what I use -oil of olay. I distinctly remember my mother telling me when I was a kid that it would keep me from getting wrinkles when I got older and that always just stuck with me.

  4. I’m terrible when it comes to cleaning my skin. I just use my clarisonic with some face wash in the morning then add some lotion. I really need to move to doing it at night instead.

  5. I usually wash my face, then moisturize. Apply makeup. Re moisturize at some point during the day and touch up makeup. Then wash it all off in the evening and put on a night face and eye cream. It takes a lot of work to maintain a youthful appearance, huh?

  10. I can’t imagine using so many cleansing products on my face in one sitting, It would probably take me forever! My current routine includes an eye makeup remover (usually a basic makeup remover wipe), basic cleanse with whichever cleansing product I am trying out and my face brush. Eye gel (a must!), a serum (loving my Lumene Radiance Cocktail) & a moisturizer (which differs from day to night)

  26. I had never really used makeup remover wipes until last fall. A roommate at a conference I attended had some and I fell in love! I’ve admittedly been one of those people who would just roll to bed with makeup on (bad!) and I can tell a huge difference in my skin since I’ve started using cloths and wiping down my face at night.
