Makeup for Beginners BeautyBlender

Makeup for Beginners: BeautyBlender on southeastbymidwest.com

Purchase: Beauty.com, Birchbox, and Sephora

Cost: $19.95 (for one BeautyBlender, you can also purchase a blender with cleanser)

How-to Video

Company Description

“Modernize the way you make up with the much sought after celebrity make-up sponge. beautyblender’s elliptical shape is designed to match the contours of your face, and it’s lack of edges eliminates streaks, allowing for a perfect makeup application every time.

blend. cleanse. repeat.

Slightly dampening your beautyblender will cause it to expand and get even softer, creating the smoothest application of makeup you’ve ever seen. Clean the sponge using one of our specially formulated cleansers and see how your skin will stay cleaner, your beautyblender will last longer and your makeup will look better than ever.”

  • The BeautyBlender starts out small and dry. You must wet it before using at which point it will just about double in size.
  • Use the rounded bottom for applying foundation, bb creams, and tinted moisturizers to the whole face.
  • Use the pointed tip at the top for applying concealer under the eyes and for getting in hard to reach spots like the side of the nose.
  • After dipping the bottom of the sponge in foundation use a soft pouncing motion ::demonstrated in the video:: to apply a thin layer of product over the full face.
  • For areas that need more coverage use a slight push-pounce motion ::also demonstrated in the video:: to apply a bit of extra product in these harder to cover spots.
  • Make sure to cleanse your product after use, while you can use anything to clean the sponge my suggestion is the BeautyBlender Solid Cleanser.

I come from the world of theatre, where the best blender was a triangle sponge and our fingers. Makeup has come a long way!

I started wearing make-up in the second grade, when I started losing the pigment in my face, and wore it through my early adulthood. My skin is so sensitive, though, that I have a hard time finding make-up that doesn’t irritate it and don’t wear it anymore. I jokingly say that I wear makeup for a wedding and a funeral. My wedding, my funeral. LOL. I love reading how much you enjoy it, though!

Thanks for this review i’ve never heard of beauty blender but i WILL be adding to my arsenal. I kind of thought you would finish the application by using a wiping motion to blend after the pouncing.

What a cool makeup tool! My teen girls would love this. They use cotton pads now and they really don’t work as nicely as this product. Going to have to give it a try.

I just bought my first sponge blender a few days ago. I always thought “That’s what my fingers are for” – boy was I missing out. It’s so much smoother and easier! Now I don’t think I’ll go without one.

You did a phenomenal job of showing how that works. It looks easy enough that I can handle it and believe me, I’m lazy with makeup. I’m usually using my fingers to spread my foundation which is probably pretty dumb!

I thought the same thing at first and then I realized practice makes perfect. When first got the BeautyBlender I didn’t know what the heck to do with it but with some trial and error I was able to get the hang of it. Hopefully my tips will make your trial and errors take less time lol
