Nail Polish Swap Reveal

At the end of October one of the blogs that I follow, The Life of a Not So Ordinary Wife, was co-hosting a nail polish swap. I decided to sign-up because hey sometimes getting some colors that you yourself didn’t pick out is awesome.

The way that the nail polish swap worked is that sign-ups were taken from October 27th until November 5th, unless they got 50 people signed-up. On November 4th I received the name of my swap partner, Tara who blogs over at A Drop of Ink, and what her likes were. She said she was loving deep and dark colors for the winter so that’s what I chose and sent off. A day or so later I received my colors in the mail and now it’s time for the big reveal!

These are the colors that Tara chose for me Smokin and Scandalous, I haven’t used either yet because I had just done a set of colors right before getting these and it hasn’t chipped off yet lol.

Smokin is a deep gray color that is put out by Sinful Colors. It swatched out in a very nice dark gray color that I found very enjoyable.

Scandalous is a dark purple glitter that is put out by Revlon. While it looked like a deep color that could be worn alone in the bottle when I swatched it the color was actually very sheer with deep purple specs in it. I actually prefer this because that means I can wear it over the Smokin, over a black, or even over a white polish for just a bit of color.

Both of these are great colors that I probably wouldn’t have picked for myself but now that I have them and have seen them swatched I will probably wear tons of times. So overall I am super glad that I did this swap, Tara was a great swap partner, and I will for sure be signing-up for another swap in the future.

If you would like to see the colors that I chose for Tara you can visit her post here.

Are these two colors ones that you would choose for yourselves, if not if they were given to you do they look like shades you would wear?

I own Scandalous and love it! I usually paint it on really dark and put a clear gloss over it, because the glitter likes to come off pretty easily. I love that grey color!

Not colors I would think would go together, but actually I really like it. Makes me think of an awesome Mage/Sorceress kind of look. I have several shades from the SinfulColors collection and they work really well (The black and gold metalic is esp. nice and looked great when I did a Batgirl theme with my nails.)

I love those colors. I would use them for sure and definitely try to be creative with them and a design. Thanks for sharing
