I know that in this post I said that I was going to do the Sunday Social last weekend, however, last weekend’s prompts weren’t questions so much as it was a free day to talk about Fall. While, I have posted a fall post since then, I wasn’t really feeling to in the fall mood because it was still hot as heck here. This week though Ashley and Neely are back with questions and boy did I pick a good week to make my first post because it’s all about books this week. So lets dive in.

My favorite childhood book hands down is “Where the Sidewalk Ends” by Shel Silverstein. I love the different poems in that book and it is one that I have read over and over and over again.

Right now I am loving “Jaina Proudmoore: Tides of War” by Christie Golden which is the newest World of Warcraft book. This book is a lead-up to Mists of Pandaria and I can already say that I like the way that they handled some things in the book better than I did in the book. I’m going to do a review on the book soon, so be on the lookout for that.

The book that I wished I lived in is Harry Potter. I love the library, the dining room is awesome, the great rooms have fireplaces, and most of it happens in a freakin castle. Enough said.

The character that I would want to be would be Belle from Beauty and the Beast. I know that Belle is not a literary character, however, the reason that I would want to be her is completely literary. That reason would be…the library that the Beast gives her. I would love for someone to give me a library like that.

There are two movies that fulfill this right off the top of my head. The first book turned movie is “The Scarlet Letter” by Nathanial Hawthorne, HOWEVER (and this is an important however), only the 1979 version is the one I like. I can’t stand the Demi Moore version of the book. {On a completely unrelated side note, Christmas is coming up and that movie is for sure on my Christmas list.} The second book turned movie is Jane Eyre but again I’m very picky and I only prefer the 1996 version with Charlotte Gainsbourg as Jane Eyre.

I have quite a few magazines that I read. However, ones that I either subscribe to or try to get whenever I have extra money are “Food Network Magazine”, “Everyday with Rachel Ray”, and “Quilts”.
- What do you value most in life?
- What do you think is the greatest invention in your lifetime and why?
- What do you think is the secret to a good life?
- What would you most like to be remembered for when you’re gone?
- What accomplishment in your life are you most proud of?
- If a movie was made about your life, who would you want to play you?
I am pretty sure most people want to live in the Harry Potter books, I sure do!
I was tossing up between Belle and Alice as to which character I wanted to be.
xx
Interesting to be Belle because of her library!! i am a reader too and love all of the books you mentioned.
I am also your newest follower..pls follow back if you can.
I am starting To Kill a Mockingbird this weekend…wonder how that will be rereading it after ALL these years..
Shel Silverstein’s poems were such a huge part of my childhood! And I wouldn’t mind at all to be Belle and have that huge library…that’s exactly the library I’ve always wanted to have in my house!
I really like that 1979 version of “The Scarlet Letter”. I hope it will be released on Blu-Ray.
Me as well!
